Five Finger Death Punch lights up Vystar Arena.
The Vystar concert is one of the most phenomenal shows that I have ever attended. It occurred on 24th October last year at the newly renovated Vystar Veterans memorial arena. This event was meant to open the refurbished arena officially, and many bands were invited to perform live. The most notable performance was done by the Five Finger Death Punch music band, who performed their hit albums, “The wrong side of Heaven” and the “Righteous side of the Hell”. The show was just amazing, right from the interaction of the band with the crowd, the music they performed and the other stuff that they threw to the crowd. I would not fail to attend another show where this band is performing.
The song, “Wrong Side of Heaven”, was the most significant in this concert. Night concerts are used to pit the righteous against evil. Most of the activities that happen at night concerts are evil. One of the lyrics of the song describes that God sounds like him while the devil looks like him, is used to present the double symbols that are shown by the youths. Human beings say and think that God’s will is alright but they also decide what they think is also okay even if it against this will of God. For example, terrorist groups say that it is okay to kill non-Muslims while the government of the USA says that it is okay to kill anybody associated with terrorism. The government of the USA and the terrorist groups think they are okay with the deeds, but these are their points of view, nothing is right or wrong here. The song is, therefore, cautioning the youths who are the main attendance against holding religious differences or joining terrorist groups.
The pitch that the band used when presenting the lyric of the song, the wrong side of heaven was enjoyable. It was neither loud nor low. This made the whole crowd sing the whole lyrics of the song with the band. A phenomenon that made the performance to be electrifying. The band had a great mastery of its crowd. The musical rhythm that they created in this song is what made their performance outstanding. Indeed, they were all pros. The rhythm was powerful, a sense that assured all the listeners that everything was quite right. The band used audio effects that turned their music into powerful tracks. They used a mixture of stompboxes, pedals and other multi-effect processors. These were key in the movement of the audience by the performance of the band. They also used a stereo sound system that allowed them to move from a single speaker to two speakers, left and right. Panning work was also used to allow many signals into each speaker. This created various spatial effects (Heinzman, 2019).
The live performance of the Five Finger Death Punch was effective. They started by building the crowd up with their performance, then engaging them in different stage dances and singing of the lyrics. They started up first with a couple of tunes and then moved moderately before lighting the whole concert by their song wrong side of heaven. This song brought up their performance gradually before finishing with the song, righteous side of the hell. The band picked the lyrics of the two songs that the crowds enjoyed, and they sang them together, this kept the crowd engaged. The group was singing for and performing for the crowd. They also kept the stage banter lit, and the mc would speak very little. Their pianist played it as if they were composing the song for the first time, with very much clarity, a clarity that I have never heard before.
Most of the participants that I spoke with termed the concert as a huge success. The pianist of the Five Finger Death Punch band even hilariously called for the checking of structural damage that might have been done to the Arena after the electrifying performance made by the band, a performance that the pianist credited to the sufficient prior practice that was done by the band. The pianist also noted that the band line up that performed in the Arena was excellent. The crowd was pumped up as these band played many good songs live. He finally termed the concert as a blast. Another participant said the show was amazing, right from the patriotism that was shown by the bands to the interaction of the bands with the crowd. Mr Bob, the third participant I spoke to, said that the concert was very incredible, visually stunning. Bob termed the performance of their band, the Five Finger Death Punch as thrilling and one of the best that they have done for a long time. The band showed fresh air in the genre of rocks. He said that they didn’t disappoint with their fun involvement. Bob singled out Ivan, the pianist for his outstanding performance that night and the entire team (Herbst, 53-69). All the fans were able to feel the love of the band.
