QUESTION 2: THE POLITICAL ECONOMIC PERSPECTIVE OF GOOGLE AND MEDIA ISSUES

Google exists as part of the FAANG category of companies that dominate globally. Google Company forms one of the great providers of internet services across the world. While several issues affect the functionality of Google, political and economic problems arise alongside media use. As states seek to utilize globalization in enhancing performance cultures actively, and economic significance, several concerns regarding the FAANG companies arise that calls for attention from the world. The concepts and ideologies of globalization contribute to the perceptions of google companies based on political and economic aspects. Similarly, media and google involvement result in concerns from various economies even as countries seek dominance over others as a result of imperialism ( Fuchs, 2010).

Political issues targeting Google present the problems of the close links created between countries using Google. Google strives to achieve the goal of globalization of the dissolution of political boundaries between countries. The reliance of people from around the globe on Google makes it a weapon to weaken countries’ political structures, thereby making the world a global village with rapid communication and movement processes. As different countries seek political dominance, Google products remain at risk for eroded use to ensure increased political influence (Budarick, 2013).

Economic issues related to google reveal the impact of globalization on the development of the search engine. Merging of economies remains one of the most reported perceptions of Google company across the globe. Considering the dynamic and vast use of google products globally, the company’s risk resulting in merging economies remains prevalent as boundaries become irrelevant with time. The economic perspective of Google presents amid the struggle of countries to ensure central positions in the economic market of the world (Fuchs, 2010).

Media issues presented to google relate to the advancements that increase the use of Google. The economic uprisings resulting from media use in advertisements form the basis for increased prominence in the use of Google. Google products present a dynamic approach to the use of media across the globe. However, issues of different presentations of media culture and communication arise alongside Google’s achievements in enhancing media presentations. Google presents online platforms that increase information dissemination, advertisements, discussions on several issues affecting the world, and the political ideologies against the countries.

Regulations of the political and economic perceptions and issues related to media require urgent attention to achieve the independence of the company (Hanska, 2018). The increased political and economic ideologies attached to the existence and functionality if Google company limits the independent control the company should possess. I would try to maintain the culture of Google and emphasize it to the countries that use the services globally. I would also emphasize the local branding of the services rather than nationalizing the products of Google. Consequently, political, economic, and media influences will remain limited. The reasons for regulating the external influencers on Google’s company mainly focus on independence. The company should exist freely and make adjustments in products based on ideas but not cultures, economy, and politics of a country to ensure balanced market needs. Additionally, the less the external influence, the more likely the company is to retain dominance across all cultures of the world.

QUESTION 3: CHANGES IN  INFORMATION FLOW ACROSS THE GLOBE FROM 1970.

Initially, the Northern globe formed the most developed part of the world in trade, communication, and media use. While the economy, politics, and significant informational issues seemed to originate from the profoundly advanced North, the southern globe worked tirelessly nearly thirty times more to ensure the center of the world shifts from the North. Information transmission across the world originated from the Northern to the Southern globe without feedback from the southern part of the world. While the Northern globe benefited more than a southern globe, the transformation would result in decreased gaps in communication flows and cultures. Currently, several countries appear in the same economic league as the USA, including Japan and the struggling BRICS, to get to the same level.  The progressive shift of flow from the advanced northern part of the globe to the rising BRICS in the south remains in progress the past few decades.

The reason for the discrepancies in informational flow in the twentieth century remains rooted in the fact that developments between the two parts of the globe were far apart. The wide gap called for more progress in the Southern world, with the BRIXS forming the center of the processes. By 2010, reports reveal the development of China from the BRICS was almost thirty fives more than in the 1970s as compared to the USA, whose growth was three times higher.

The Northern countries invest heavily in media, television programs, and advertisements that mainly contribute to their dominance in matters of media and culture. However, the developments in the southern world countries, including China, South Africa, India, Brazil, and Russia, have caused significant changes in the one- way flow of information from the North. Increased use of media in communication and enhancement of research in these areas of development has contributed significantly to informational transfer changes.

Improved research and investment of students researching matters of media development have resulted in many improvements in the southern world. The BRICS countries are in the quest to ensure quality programs, advertisements, and news releases up to and beyond the level of countries of the North. However, the uses of media in the USA remain dominant over the counterpart country; China following the freedom of press and transparency in communication in the country, which remains far from achieved in China.

The future of the dominant Northern globe remains unpredictable as countries seek developments in media use and communication on matters of culture and information. The bridging of the gap among the nations the world signifies efforts to level the exceptionality of major economies, including the USA. Despite the efforts of the BRICS to outface the USA and Japan, the media culture of these countries experiences a lot of challenges, including corruption and freedom of reporters. Bribery presents differently in South Africa, Brazil, and China, three of the vibrantly developing countries. The issue of freedom of media personnel hinders active development among the BRICS as South Africa remains the only country with total freedom to news reporters. Such hiccups in development make the center of media and communication cultures across the world undefined (Sparks, 2013).
