Go Out to Eat Assignment
Recently, I had an interesting encounter with my High School friend. After having a little chat with my friend, we visited the Tavern Restaurant that is close to our University for dinner. The restaurant operates upscale casual where children are not tolerated. The meals are based on Menus and aim at providing high-quality foods to the clients. It is also an independent restaurant where the owner has two other restaurants that they operate and manage other restaurants within a small perimeter.
The restaurant also offers a full service to the clients where the clients enter sit down, and the food is served to the client’s tables directly. Once I entered the restaurant, there was no need for placing an order through the counter, but instead placing orders using the menus. Another element in the restaurant industry is marketing, which is crucial in maintaining the clients. Upon visiting the restaurant, one of the marketing approaches adopted by restaurants is the use of social marketing. The website has a well-elaborated website through social media Facebook, where they use the platforms for marketing the products as well as the offers on the market. The marketing, as well as the organization in the menu, is among the aspects that attracted me to the restaurant.
There are several elements about the restaurant segment that we learned in class, which I confirmed was right, especially the availability of high-quality silverware. As much as the restaurant is well presented, this was another mark, and to me, the silverware was appetizing. Not to forget, there was also enough space, and the fact children were not tolerated, made it easier for the adults to dine, have alcohol with any music played. It was a fantastic feeling, being in a place, with best decorations, best foods, alcohol as well as relaxing music.
As much as everything was perfect, there was one thing that I did not like about the restaurant, and this was the waiting time. I can estimate that it took close to 30 minutes for our meals to be served. The services were perfect, but the waiting time was long, and I kept reminding the waiters about our order. I believe that this is an essential aspect that the restaurant should focus on. From my perspective, everything is perfect, the management is also perfect, but they need to increase the number of waiters to make the process of food serving easy. I realized the number of waiters was not enough compared to the high customer’s turnout. If this issue is improved, the restaurant stands a chance to perform even better
To conclude, I will discuss the approach of the restaurant about Covid-19. The COVID-19 outbreak has undoubtedly presented a drastic effect on restaurants, which has also changed the rules of operation. For instance, during the Covid-19 times, the restaurant has introduced a temperature check at the entrance, and all the clients must have masks. They also ensure that there are a minimum number of people within the restaurant at a given time to guarantee social distancing. The management has also provided information about Covid-19 that is spread everywhere within the restaurant to ensure that everyone adheres to the given directions.
