Group Project Solution Review
- Read the solution to your group’s problem. Do you agree with it? See any holes in it?
Employees’ burnout has been a common factor in United States of America especially in the healthcare system which is dangerous as it can result in adverse impacts to the patients’ health which might risk their lives. The healthcare system is a crucial part of the society and healthcare practitioners should always be alert so that they can offer effective services to the patients. Burnout is a serious occupational threat that hinders employees from achieving their best performance strategies should be employed to eliminate burnout among medical practitioners.
I strongly agree with the solutions that the groups offered to deal with as a means or strategies of dealing with employees’ burnout in the healthcare system. I believe that holistic employee care will enable medical practitioners to work efficiently without burn out and have job satisfaction which allows them to be effective. It is also important for the health care facilities to redesign their workflow system to make their employees work within the appropriate time and have breaks within their shifts to unwind and relax. The health facilities should also teach their employees to use relaxing techniques such as yoga and proper breathing to reduce anxiety and stress which in turn improves their performance at work. With mandatory monthly breaks is also be effective when dealing with fatigue and burnout.
I believe that the strategies that the group picked as solutions to reducing burnout in the health care systems are effective and I do not see any holes in the strategies. Burnout has adverse impacts on both the healthcare practitioner’s health status, physical and psychological wellbeing, and the patient’s wellbeing that is why it should be done away with effectively.
- Find an issue/solution you were not a part of. Did your group also discuss that problem? See any holes with the solution? Have any alternative ideas?
The solution that the group discussed and I was not part of it was the teaching of techniques for relaxation and mindfulness so that it can reduce stress levels and anxiety in employees. I had not thought of this strategy but according to how the group explained it expansively I can say that this strategy is effective in dealing with burnouts. I believe that if health facilities set aside a room for employees to use as a yoga studio or a gym during their break time it would help them relax and reduce their burnout levels.
Alternatively, the health care facilities or the employer can hire many employees so that one person cannot be overwhelmed by the pressure of the job. With many employees, shifts can be designed in a way where the employees only work for short hours or have as much help as they need during their shifts. This way it will be possible to manage and eliminate burnouts among employees hence improving their performance.
