Hate Writing Much?
Working on anything that requires time, energy and resources take a lot, especially at the beginning. Research papers are no exception and the mere fact that it is an obligation for students is enough to stir negative feelings regarding it, regardless of how lazy or hardworking different students are. Some students, when asked, would say that the reason they dislike writing research papers is because of their untimeliness. Usually, such cumbersome assignments are accompanied by other tasks from different teachers, leaving students overwhelmed. Nonetheless, a majority of students loathe the same due to lack of adequate preparation. In most cases, the students in question lack a strong background of English, both intellectually and grammatically (Michael, 2015, p.1). The students, therefore, lack basic skills in a research paper format, making them spend more time researching how to do what they need to do instead of digging right in, as they have little or no faith in their current writing abilities.
The good news is, writing research papers does not have to elicit such feelings. Students who have a hard time beginning or getting through a research paper should consider developing better writing skills as well as embracing and developing a more significant appreciation and understanding of the sole purpose of writing. To do so, they could practice writing when not instructed to by educators and in the process, gain confidence and enthusiasm as they will begin to deem it a meaningful activity. Besides, while writing, students should find a place that elevates their spirits and with minimal distractions, to suppress the writing frustration and keep them focused. Importantly, students should keep in mind that being a perfectionist is never the goal, but to be themselves and speak in their true voice.
