Would you do this discussion first: Its due Saturday:
Discussion 5.1 This week’s assignment required you to read the application for Medicare Health Insurance and then decide which plan would be beneficial for you personally, given a set of facts. Based upon your readings is Medicare a good investment for an individual? Please explain.
Upon my readings, Medicare is a good investment for an individual. It’s normally said that “health is wealth” If your body is weak you might have wealth and be unable to enjoy it. What Medicare does, it assures you of health safety at your weakest point or time without struggle especially from age 65 or above. This health insurance also considers young people with certain disabilities and individuals with End-Stage Renal Disease (Medicare.gov, 2018).
Most people die not because they were supposed to, but because they lack hope since there is no one to take care of them, especially to give them quality health services as well as paying for those services. Medicare gives someone hope so even if you are sick you don’t have the stress of accessing treatment. I would highly recommend everyone to have Medicare Health Insurance. It acts as someone’s savings account where you keep funds only meant for your healthcare at your weakest. It’s of great advantage because even if you spend more than you have saved the insurance will pay for you. Millions of aging adults have been receiving healthcare courtesy of Medicare. If they didn’t have the insurance, most of them could not have afforded it thus complicating their lives (Health Markets, 2019).
Monthly savings are very little. People with Medicare health Insurance pay very little per month hence no much struggle. After all, they will benefit most when they will need to pay hospital bills in the future (Health Markets, 2019).
Medicare has led to people receiving high-quality health care services. People with Medicare, seek health care services from hospitals with high medical standards because they don’t fear hospital bills, they will be catered for (Health Markets, 2019).
Discussion Board
Discussion 5.2 There is a significant amount of discussion among many politicians touting “Medicare for All” as a National Health Insurance policy. Is Medicare a good model as a basis for a National Health Plan? Please explain.
Yes. Medicare is a good model for a National Health Plan. There are several people both young and adults who died as a result of failure to afford quality health care. This doesn’t mean no hospital offered quality health care but it’s because they were not financially stable to fund their treatment in such facilities. While planning for national health, it’s good to have every citizen insured under Medicare. This will boost the health of Americans thus increasing their productivity.
Why would a government watch as its citizens die because of failure to afford health services? These citizens are paying taxes hence they deserve to be protected by the government. The government offers health insurance for all its employees such as the police force and other government officials. This should happen to all citizens. There people who pay their Medicare because they are employed privately or their companies pay for them but there are others who are self-employed with low income while others are jobless. All these people deserve equal and quality health care. By actualizing this plan, the government will promote equity as well as long lifespan to Americans (Institute of Medicine (US) Committee on Assuring the Health of the Public in the 21st Century., 2002).
There are several factors that determine the health of an individual. the government may not be able to handle all of them because some re personal and others genetic. Actualizing “Medicare for all” will have solved more than half of health issues in the country. When the government is responsible for the health of all the citizens, it will ensure all hospitals provide high-quality health care services through policies and training personnel. The government will also focus on disease prevention measures to ensure people don’t get sick often thus straining the financially (National Research Council (US) Committee on National Statistics, 2010). Let us all get Medicare Health Insurance courtesy of the government.
