Health Assessment Case Study
Client care in a healthy environment is one of the first things to consider when a patient visits. Over the last few months, the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in many people visiting hospitals for checks or treatment (Feng et al., 2020). Veronica Jade is one of the clients who visited the CHC health center for assessment due to the fears of the Covid-19 pandemic in their place of work. This discussion question aims to assess the aspects of client care.
History Taking
Veronica is a 24-year-old female working at a long-term care home as a personal worker. She has concerns about her health based on her low-grade temperature and scratchy throat. Her place of work has witnessed the first case of the Covid-19 pandemic. The patient has not sated the duration she has experienced the stated symptoms.
Subjective Data
Veronica has worrying concerns about her health. She has presented herself for assessment for the Covid-19 pandemic since her place of work has already had their first case of infection. Veronica is experiencing low-grade temperatures and a scratchy throat. She thinks she might have contracted the virus. She perceives that having had a covid-19 patient, she could have also had the infection.
Objective Data
Veronica looked tired with just a dry cough that she described as scratchy. She should undergo two tests to test for covid-19 infection. Veronica must undergo an antibody and viral tests. The viral test determines if she has a current infection while the antibody test would show if she had a previous disease in the past (Feng et al., 2020).
Anticipated Diagnostic Tests
The anticipated prior to Covid-19 testing include screening the patient for the virus using nucleic acid amplification tests like RT-PCR. Moreover, repeat the procedure if the results fail.
Healthy Teaching
The patient indicates also undergo healthy teaching on how to ensure a healthy living free of the covid-19 pandemic. In this case, she should ensure social distancing, wear a mask, and sanitize hands frequently.
Conclusion
Veronica has concerns about having contracted the covid-19 virus. Her symptoms suggest she might have contracted the disease, but she has to undergo laboratory tests for confirmation. Both subjective and objective data indicate that Veronica has a health issue that needs attention. She also has to go through a health teaching on safety against pandemic infections. Both
