HEALTHCARE CHALLANGE
The topic of healthcare is very wide and as such, it also presents enormous challenges for leaders that are in this sector. There have been a lot of debates in the past years on how leaders can implement the most affordable healthcare coverage for every individual. This has put a lot of pressure on leaders to find the most effective solutions to the intricate challenges in the healthcare sector (Teel, 2018). Some of the challenges that leaders face include; healthcare rising costs, medicinal and technological challenges, and training and education challenges.
Healthcare rising cost is a problem that is currently affecting many and it is projected that it is still going to be a challenge in the future. High healthcare cost is brought about by people striving to live longer, have an active lifestyle, and live a healthy life. Due to an increase in the demand for the above, the cost of health increases thus giving leaders a challenge in determining the most appropriate way to put prices on healthcare prices (Teel, 2018). Secondly, medical and technological advancement is also another challenge. For instance, most healthcare leaders face a challenge with the low numbers of physicians because of the shifts that have to be planned for every patient to receive healthcare services (Teel, 2018). Lastly, there is the training and educational challenges whereas we head into the future, things are drastically changing including the emergence of new diseases. This forces leaders to ensure that their staff members are well trained and developed education-wise (Teel, 2018). This requires fine-tuning their personal and professional skills.
To address these challenges, leaders will be required to research and look for grands, funding, and contribution, to help in the reduction of the cost of healthcare services (Teel, 2018). For the medical and technological challenges, leaders will need to explore and innovative methods of managing and storing information adequately to prevent the handling of patient data in the future. Lastly, the challenge of training and education, leaders are advised to use a more hands-off approach whereby they will involve patients to embrace personal care (Teel, 2018). This will need leaders to advise their staff to sharpen their communication tools so that they can handle patients without them visiting the hospital.
