The Supreme Court after the cold war declared a separate but equal education which meant the end of segregated schools. More blacks were employed, and until now, discrimination against race ended.

The case of Dred Scott V Sanford also led to reduced discrimination and end of slavery. The current state of race relations in the United States has ensured unity for all residents where inequality and discrimination have been fought against by civil rights movement. - Equal Rights Amendment in the United States was implemented by Alice Paul who was the founder of National Women’s Party. The law was designed to ensure equal right to all citizens of United States where people could not be discriminated by their sex. The supporters of Equal Rights Amendment included Alice Paul and all those who supported National Women’s Party. These supported that women should be given equal terms tom male counterparts in all ways even if the equality could interfere with the benefits that were meant for women. They wanted to ensure that women have equal opportunities and rights with no discrimination. This side defined freedom for women as having equal rights and opportunities with men which could reduce discrimination in the workplace and other activities. The opponents of ERA included all women under women’s Joint Congressional Committee. They felt that the benefits that women received for their gender were more worth compared to the fight for equality to women. According to opponents, freedom for women meant the benefits they were given due to their gender including short working hours. The two groups have different views on what freedom for women means where we have one group supporting Era while the other group is against it.
- Ronald Reagan’s tenure was a tenure of conservativeness. This is because his leadership aimed at returning the economy of United States to the position it was before the war. Since he was elected president immediately after the WWII, the economy had stagnated and Ronald being the president worked hard to return the economy of the United States to the initial position. He also worked hard to recover the nation’s optimism regarding the future where he wanted to revive the nation which could enable it to reach its future dreams. He also managed to end the cold war struggle that had taken long where he established the Soviet Union to end the war. He always used the saying by Tom Paine which stated that they had the power to begin the world back to its original state.
Some conservatives may feel that Ronald Reagan did not go far because he stopped the war but did not manage to return the economy of the American to its original state. As he had suggested in his speech, he aimed to enable American attain its future dreams which he did not manage as he died in the process. The liberals feel that Reagan dismantled too much because he managed to stop the Cold war that had happened for so long. He also worked on the economy of the United States and improved it though he did not manage to return it to its initial position.

The increased immorality in the United States where discrimination, homosexuality and abortion became the topics that president Reagan tried his best to set clear views on how the issues could be handled in the state. The efforts made by President Reagan left the United States more conservative where the issues such as abortion and homosexuality were against the values of the state.

The culture war has made people realize the value of conservatism where most people n the United States consider themselves conservative since 1990.
Despite the fact that, many Americans are shifting to conservativeness, the number of liberals has also increased in the recent year making the two groups move further ideologically. This is because the Democrats focus on change while the conservatives plan to return the United States to its original position. Economic conservatism is popular in the United States and has become more popular in the last decade. This indicates that America has embraced most concepts of conservatism as a way to get the country to its original position. The social values of the American people take the direction of a conservative party which ensures that the moral standards of United States are highly embraced. The social issues that raise topics in the United States are abortion, homosexuality and legalization of marijuana. Until the liberals agree to work together with the conservatives to go against these social issues, America will remain more conservative in the 21st century. This is because the citizens want economic responsibility, limited government and free enterprise rather than concentrating on issues that will just enlarge the gap of a culture war.
