Hospice care and palliative care
Hospice care is offered to patients at the end of the life stage, where the patients are not expected to recover from chronic illness. The main focus of the care is to reduce the pain and offer emotional support to the patient’s family. Palliative care is provided to chronically ill patients, but their situation is not life-threatening for the moment. Both palliative and hospice care are offered to ease pain and improve the quality of life for aged patients. Stages of grief are; denial, anger, depression, bargaining, and acceptance stage. The stages range from initial stages where the patient denies the situation to the final stage, where they accept that they are almost dying.
