A hotel management system is a system that focuses on room booking management; enhance hotel website user-interface, property management, and managing the pricing. In this case, the system aims at providing room booking services, managing prices, and establish an enhanced, simple user interface (Bochanova, 2020 ). Users interested in job applications in that a hotel can apply for job positions available within the hotel. If there is a successful booking, the site will display that it is booked and if failure to book occurred, the site shows an error. In the development process, I used the Agile Methodology. The methodology is based on developing a system depending on current trends and opportunities. Besides, it analyzes the risks to develop a better website.
The system will be developed using PHP and MySQL, JavaScript and CSS (cascading style sheet) for changing the appearance of the web page and performing some functionality. HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) will ensure the pages are created accordingly. It covers more on agile technology, which is driven by the ability to satisfy customers’ needs. I recommended this system because it eliminates the need for booking keeping among the hotel manager and its workers on what rooms have been booked and checking which is not. It also handles the payments made to the hotel rooms, enhancing the website user interface and handling reservations. It also creates control over the entire website as compared to combined hotels on one website, which makes decision making difficult to achieve. It is also limited to low reliability among other hotel partners in the combined site as it is a platform for competitive advantage.
There is a big gap in many hotels booking system. An example is an interface being congested with much information, making the site illegible. Many hotels are being hosted by agencies of sites that advertise for them and help in the booking process.
