How an organization about to embark on some major programs for the first time can get benefit from developing a generic model of the program life cycle.

Programs are the integration of some projects that need to be handled in a systematic way. When the programs are visualized through some plans, processes, methods, projects and strategies; it’s vital to conceptualize the same with a life cycle to target the success easily. The consistency and integration of the wider environment are needed to maintain efficiently by controlling the factors related to it. When an organization is about to start its execution on some major programs for the first time, there are two things it lacks. The first thing is the lack of expertise knowledge in handling the programs efficiently. The second point is the time it needs to organize the needful resources as it is going to commence the programs first time only. To find out a solution for the consequences to be faced by the organization, it needs to apply some generic models to get the benefit of getting succeeded in the life cycle (Muller, Martinsuo, and Blomquist, 2008).

To execute the programs or projects, an organization has to undergo a life cycle. In the literature, there are some life cycle models available to confront the program activities efficiently. There are several benefits an organization can get by following the life cycle models systematically. The models not only facilitate the organization with a smooth working structure but also help the organization to study the effectiveness of the models by learning it closely. All models stress the significance of systematized process to be undertaken in the programs. All the steps to be followed in the variety of models are consequently interlinked with each other that help an organization to conduct the activities in the concerned projects resourcefully (Too and Weaver, 2014). The life cycle theory suggested by Thiry (2010) has the most effective influence model to commence the programs in an organization successfully. The life cycle model has five interlinked stages of carrying out the projects. They are formulation, Organization, deployment, appraisal and dissolution. These integrated steps are designed specially to minimize the probable hindrances a project or program manager will face in implementation.

The overall models are also criticized by Thiry (2010), who proclaims that all the models are similar in targeting the project success and supportive for the organization to get the productive benefits from it. The several benefits derived from the implementation of the models can be illustrated in a detailed manner as follows:-

Enhancing the abilities to execute the programs. It is a good platform to make an effective hand in performing the project activities. The project manager can improve his skills and knowledge in developing the smoothest way to accomplish the project target.

The life cycle goes through some interrelated steps; the successful ending of one step is the starting phase of another. This relatedness helps an organization to focus on completing the steps one by one that minimizes the complexity of the projects. Successful execution of the projects gives the benefit of accomplishing the programs effectively.
