fresh Student-Athlete & Parent direction
Every new person & shifted students athletes are welcomed and instructed to participate in physical direction initiative in admission week. The effort exposes student-athletes and guardians to active faculty and institution assets and enlightens them on health wellbeing area to the student-athlete exposure.
P.H.E.D.P.H.E.D. 165a
On the course of student-athlete initial phase at U.S.C.U.S.C., one is expected to pursue PHE 165; a term-long study developed to solve contemporary matters impacting individual progress of the student-athlete. Study areas comprise of education abilities and approaches; experiment pursues, library investigation, interaction, monetary management, media approach, identifying significant, professional progress as well as institutional assets. The lone unit is to promote by SAAS staff with invited speakers in the department, old student-athletes.
P.O.W.E.R.P.O.W.E.R. Programs
Every semester student-athletes engage in a variety of presentations carrying them on a well-familiarized speaker that will touch on the individual progress matters such as substance use, sexual orientation, diversity, guidance, way of living beyond sports and commercial awareness.
U.S.C.U.S.C. Career Center
The faculty is alone stopped resource for professional help on the U.S.C.U.S.C. institution. It entails offering advice when the learner requires assistance in identifying major, internship, resume construction. Career fairs are organized every semester for all learners engaging in significant disciplines. It is also responsible for Trojan Network to equip learners with skills on career, organization and their cultures.
Career Month
Extended series of events are organized annually to help student-athletes position and seek internships and wholly engaged employment privileges. The activities incorporated include; institution, professional preparedness, resume analysis, work right, alumni panels, etc.
Student Recognition & Awards
Student-Athlete of the Month
SAAS is tasked with the role of identifying six athletes in every month of the academic period. It picks all the genders equally that attain high academic rankings either through exceptional results or commitment in the educational field.
U.S.C.U.S.C. Senior Recognition
Every spring, U.S.C.U.S.C. Student Recognition appraisal panel plans the top and graduates award recognition event to leadership, engagement, service and scholarship in the institution.
Marks Scholars
Daniel X. Marks Foundation jointly with U.S.C.U.S.C. Athletics Department organizes Marks Luncheon every May. The objective of the luncheon is to recognize student-athletes that have to attain excellently in academics. Mainly, scholarship learners are welcome to the luncheon in the condition they accomplished not less 3.0 cum.
Athletic Department Senior Graduation Reception
At the end of each academic year, the athletic faculty appraises educational efforts of it completing predecessors by organizing completion event and reception in commencement period. Learners with their guardians are persuaded to participate and cherish their performance with the active faculty. In the host, three-yearly recognition is directed to annual best performing seniors.
The appraisals comprise of:
Trojaneer Diamond Award directed to the student-athlete that is more famous and unique to the institution.
Gimbel Award is for the student-athlete that is ranked as the most obedient
Willis O’Hunter Award is given to the senior with the best cumulative grade point average.
Stevens Scholars
Every May, completing student-athletes that have scored 3.5 cumulative G.P.A.G.P.A. or higher are appraisals with a Stevens Scholar medallion on the course of Student-Athlete Graduation Celebration.
Varsity Award
A single period lone varsity award will be directed to the student-athlete that meets the qualification of varsity letter winner award approach prepared by every sports Head Coach. The appraisal could be presented in any of the time the student-athlete engages in a particular intercollegiate sport. Their respective coach will notify a student-athlete that they qualify for the award then given the option of either varsity letter jacket or Blanket. The active faculty is expected to present watches as awards on the parties of conference champions while rings are presented to N.C.A.A.N.C.A.A. country champions.
