This program will be important as it will evaluate all the needs of the students that should be incorporated in their learning. It is also necessary for selecting students who require intensive instructional services for improved mathematics performance.

The program should be implemented within the next six months so that time is created for data collection and analysis.

The activities under this program will involve three tiers. The three tiers will involve data collection and assessment of students at different levels.

Another activity will be universal screening where students achievement data will be collected.

Data collection will be done among the students at San Jacinto.

Assessment of these students will provide relevant information on which strategies to be employed in the teaching of campus and district students.

This program will ensure that all the needs of students are captured, and will inform teachers about the best approaches to employ during the teaching.

San Jacinto elementary demographic information include Race/Ethnicity: African American, campus:18.4%, district:22.5%, Hispanic: campus 78.5%, district 70.0%, White: campus 2.1%, district 5.1%, American Indian: campus 0.6%, district 0.3%, Asian: campus 0.0%, district 1.4%, Pacific Islander: campus 0.0%, district 0.1%, Two or More Races: campus 0.4%, district 0.6% 2.

 

Quality Core Program.

This is a program that includes all mathematics instructions that are differentiated aimed at students with particular need.

This program is necessary as it points out the problems with students and assists in grouping them according to their mathematics performance

The intervention can take a month or two months to understand the instructions used by the teacher so that they can be evaluated for effectiveness.

Activities include assessment of students to identify the instruction-based model applied during the teaching.

Observation and use of group interview will be conducted to collect data about instructions employed.

Data analysis will be done manually.

The expected outcome will be the identification of the weaknesses of the instruction model employed which will necessitate a change of the instruction model or retention.

Teachers, counselors, and students will work together to achieve better teaching approach for improved students outcome.

Increase the number of staff.

This will allow students to have a variety of staff so that students who are comfortable with male teachers can be added to one group with a male teacher as a facilitator.

Increasing the number of staff will cater for the increasing number of students, thus meeting students’ needs will be enhanced.

Training existing and new teachers on suggested teaching approaches and required instructions for better mathematics outcome.

Training on the application of research skills.

Data will be collected through group interviews and questionnaire from teachers and students.

An analysis will be done by the use of SPSS.

With more and variety of teachers in San Jacinto, students will be trained to employ self-regulated studies and to select relevant materials for improving mathematics performance.

Training of teachers on the best teaching approach and time allocation will ensure improved performance.

The teachers will also promote learning environment through training.
