How to reduce Global Warming
The most important means of reducing climate change is by reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Recently, global warming has been a global threat. Many nations across the world are putting more emphasis on the fight against climate change. Countries across the globe have been at the forefront of the fight against global warming. Notably, this has been classified as a global issue. This paper seeks to discuss how global warming can be reduced through a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions and better ways to reduce emissions. The paper advocates for planting trees, driving fuel-efficient cars, and managing wastes.
Plumer (2014) advocates for cutting emission as one of the best ways to reduce global warming. Notably, the greenhouse gas effect is the leading force behind global warming. The greenhouse effect is brought about by the emission of greenhouse gases from human activities. In this case, Plumer argues that there should be a reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases for the world to talk about the decrease in global warming. The reduction of greenhouse gases means seizing from activities that have been classified as the primary sources of greenhouse gases (Plumer 2014). These activities include factories, industries, among others. Human beings should use proper means of dealing with emissions from factories and industries to avoid harming the environment. Apart from the factories and industries, many other activities emit large volumes of greenhouse gases. Therefore, people should put more emphasis on these activities to ensure the proper treatment of the gases produced.
Planting trees is sometimes less recognized, but it is the most effective way of curbing global warming. Many people do not give this method of reducing global warming the credit it deserves. Plants not only take in carbon dioxide but produce oxygen. Plants provide fresh air, which is necessary for human survival. However, according to Rinkesh (2019), the most notable of all is the ability to take in carbon dioxide, which is the leading cause of global warming. This means that planting more trees would increase fresh air in the form of oxygen and reduce amounts of carbon dioxide. The reduction in carbon dioxide, therefore, leads to overcoming global warming. In this case, people should consider planting more trees in the quest to fight climate change.
According to Denchak (2017), driving fuel-efficient cars is an unusual way of stopping global warming. Research has indicated that the gases emitted from vehicles contribute significantly to global warming. Notably, vehicles emit carbon dioxide gases into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is the leading contributor to global warming. In this case, if people want to reduce global warming, they should consider finding alternatives to these vehicles. Notably, the amount of carbon dioxide produced depends on the amount of fuel used. In this case, reduced fuel usage can result in reduced carbon dioxide emissions. Denmark (2017) recommends the usage of electric cars and gas-smart vehicles in the quest to reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide production. Electric cars have been tipped as a better solution to climate issues since they use electricity instead of fuel that results in the emission of carbon dioxide (Denmark 2017). On the other side, gas-smart vehicles like hybrids use fuel efficiently. In this case, the less consumption of fuel translates to less emission of carbon dioxide. Therefore, this is a better way of curbing global warming.
Another substantial way of sinking global warming is by reducing waste. Waste accounts significantly to global warming. Just like West (2019) puts it, people should “reduce, reuse, and recycle.” One way of reducing waste is by opting for reusable products instead of disposable ones. Recycling or reusing significantly reduces waste accumulations. The only way that people can make sure that they achieve this is by choosing disposable or reusable products. Whenever there is no suitable program of recycling or reusing products, those with intentions of reducing global warming should chip in and advocate for such programs. According to West (2019), recycling half of the household waste annually saves carbon dioxide amounting to up to approximately 2400 pounds. This is a notable reduction in carbon dioxide and global warming at large.
In conclusion, global warming has been a global concern. Recently, the whole world has expressed fears about continuous global warming and its effect. Many strategies have been put in place to stop global warming. Though it is challenging to cut global warming, reducing it is possible. Every human being should be at the forefront of the fight against this monster. Carbon dioxide has been named as a severe cause of global warming. In this case, people should have it as the primary target in this fight. Reducing its production should be the prime target. When the strategies discussed in this paper are actualized, there is no doubt that global warming will slow down.
