HUMAN AS A CREATION OF GOD
In the perspective of Christianity, humans are understood as creatures created by God. Humans are not from themselves, but exist because they were created by the Creator. The narrative of human creation is contained in the Book of Genesis which tells us that man was created by God in the last place in the series of creation of the universe along with all its contents. The Bible tells us that God created the universe from nothing. The concept of creation out of nothing is called creatio ex nihillo. God created the universe in 6 days. Starting from light (first day), horizon (second day), land and sea, and plants (third day), lighting objects (fourth day), beings in water and in the air (fifth day) and everything reptiles, livestock, and wild animals, and finally humans (the sixth day). It must be stressed that humans were created as part of the creation of the universe and its contents. However, the creation of man (Adam) is different from the way of the creation of other creations. In the Bible it is stated that God formed man from the dust of the earth and breathed life into his nose. Humans were created by God by combining two main elements, namely the first element comes from the breath of God and the second element comes from the dust of the earth which has been available on previous creation. One of the elements that make up man comes from the breath of God called the image and likeness of God (imago dei and similitudo dei). The term image and likeness of God also shows the relationship between humans and His creator, namely that there is a similarity between God and humans, namely divine equality. The relationship is included in the concept of loyalty, namely that humans remain in a loyalty relationship with God, the creator. The second element that is an inseparable part of human existence comes from the ground, which symbolizes that although humans have an element of breath that comes from God, human beings are still vulnerable and full of limitations. These vulnerabilities and limitations contain very diverse potentials, one of which is the potential to make choices for being unfaithful in the faithful relationship that God has built. This is where situations arise that are closely related to the fall of man into sin. Considering that humans, both men and women, are creatures created by God, humans will never be God from among themselves.
