Human beings

Harriet Tubman once said, “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion for reaching for the stars to change the world.” Being sincere is the act of placing forth sincerity or being genuinely committed. It is honesty, thoughtfulness, and enthusiasm. Human beings are born into a world full of opportunity and with a potential of achieving incredible things. However, this potential gets unknowingly crushed between birth and adulthood. Staying true to one’s dream is not easy; often, the craziness of life gets in the way of working towards one’s more meaningful goals and dreams.

Human beings enter this word in the form of babies; full of confidence, happy, excited, and free to themselves. We are eager and ready to explore this oyster we call earth. We pick ourselves up when we fall and keep on going neither giving up nor worrying about other people’s perceptions or thoughts about us. Our parents, teachers, media, and the government subject us to social conditioning from the very day we are born. We are taught that success in life is based on the foundation of a good education, school, grades, and graduating from a university and a six-figure profession. Moreover, we are expected to drive expensive vehicles, own costly houses, wear designer attires to fit in certain social circles. The unfortunate reality of the modern world is that; for, say, a girl to feel beautiful she is tweaked into believing she must dress in a precise manner or look like a model on the cover of a classy magazine.

Gradually as the time’s change and years pass there is no surprise that this individual may begin to lose his or her sense of identity, struggle to comprehend their inner self and image and get the feeling of being misplaced in life. The happiest, most successful people are the ones that follow their hearts and dreams. Those that have a strong belief in themselves and in whatever they are doing, that others cannot fail to believe in them also. To be true to yourself takes courage. It requires you to be reflective, sincere, open-minded, and fair. Man, alone, has the power to transform his thoughts into physical reality; man, alone, can dream and make his dreams come true. Individuals often hide their desires and value of themselves to get accepted by others. It is a sad truth. Additionally, By the time such a person becomes an adult, he or she will have built this whole system of belief based on what they were taught from childhood, and in turn, finding supporting evidence to back these beliefs. Conversely, several such individuals limit themselves to “I am not good enough “or “I can never do this and that,” among other beliefs.

The truth of the matter is that human beings carry the weight of such views throughout their lives without ever questioning whether they are right or if they serve any useful purposes. For the most part, it is such beliefs that hold many people back in life. They keep us boxed in and make us scared to shine. Again they make one fear full of other people’s thoughts and beliefs at the moment when they realize our true nature. Napoleon Hill once said, “It does not mean that you are inconsiderate or disrespectful of others. It means that you will not let others define you or make decisions for you that you should make for yourself.”

In summary, staying true to one’s dream is not easy; often, the craziness of life gets in the way of working towards one’s more meaningful goals and dreams. One may want a fast car, a glamorous lifestyle, or a mansion. There is absolutely nothing wrong in that as long as it is what the individual wants and they are genuine and honest with themselves. Not what they think they may need to be happy. Expensive materials do not measure happiness, but with being free to do what one wants and enjoys. It is said that a beautiful soul is the one that alludes itself to shine through; it exudes confidence, poise, and radiate warmth.
