Human Trafficking
- Human trafficking is traumatizing because the victims are forced in domestic servitude while others are abused.
- There is a need for addressing the issues the make it easier for traffickers through the acknowledgement of survivors as well as strive to empower victims who are desperately trying to make the overwhelming shift of the survivors.
- The United States and its government should work to understand and address policy gaps that allow human trafficking to exist, as well as those that prevent trafficking survivors from receiving life-saving services. For instance, by supporting their need to truly recover and thrive in the United States.
- Human trafficking victims faced many challenges as a survivor which include health and financial challenges as well as an attempt to overcome the fact that some lack an opportunity to totally access any kind of education.
- The survivors are exploited after they are sought out to share their knowledge, expertise and experience, are often not compensated like other experts. Therefore, there is a need to acknowledge the survivor’s boldness in sharing their experience considering the fact that they want to be recognized for their personal and professional contributions and accomplishment.
