Impact of Fathers Involvement in Children’s Well-being
In any home, a father is more than just being a ‘second adult.’ Fathers involved in their children’s development bring positive impacts to them, which no other individual can bring. Therefore, it is crucial for experts working with fathers, mainly in the challenging, emotionally indicted grounds, to acquire a functioning understanding of the works that address this influence. Therefore, it is worth knowing how impactful it is for fathers to be involved in their children’s upbringing and how this can be worked out.
Child protective services case managers are served of an assignment that is both vital to society and, on occasion, overpowering to the specific case manager: determining when this present world most vulnerable residents, for this situation, the children, are in danger and what moves must be made to guarantee their security (Rosenberg et al., 2006). At that point, they should ensure that these activities happen in both a convenient and touchy way. The CPS is also served with the duty to ensure the healthy involvement of fathers in their children’s’ lives. Therefore, the CPS workers address matters concerning fathers who are not involved in their children’s well-being and how they can help in turning them to caring and involved ones (De Santis et al., 2017). The CPS offers solutions to the dynamics bringing about a lack of involvement of fathers in the upbringing of their children.
The Child Protection Service suggests that the most effective way a father can influence his child is indirect. The quality of the relationship between the father and the mother is a significant influence on a child (Rosenberg et al., 2006). Fathers with a right affiliation with the mothers of their children are involved in their children’s lives and devote more of their time with the children. By this, the children are emotionally and psychologically restored. Correspondingly, a mother who feels secure with his children’s father and adores the value of a healthy relationship is most likely to be passionate about becoming a better mother. Therefore, it is evident that a good and stable relationship impacts the parenting conduct of both parents.
A good and healthy father-mother relationship is of great benefit to a child’s life. Mostly, it is responsible for modeling the behavior of the child. Fathers who respect and treat the mothers of their children well and handle conflicts with an appropriate adult-manner mostly have boys who have an understanding of how to treat women and who are less likely to act aggressively toward females (Leon et al., 2016). Also, girls with responsible and involved fathers can know how to responsible men act, and how they expect to be treated. These allow them not to be involved in brutal or weird love affairs. However, contrary to that, research has indicated that fathers who demonstrate anger, or display hatred, presumably have children who suffer from anxiety, withdrawal, or loneliness.
Additionally, it is stated that involved fathers have an intellectual and educational influence on their children’s lives. Children who got involved and involved fathers have enriched educational results. Research done states that fathers who are involved, caring, nurturing, and lively with their offspring have children that have high intelligence along with better perceptive capacities and linguistic (Leon et al., 2016). The involvement of fathers influences the academic achievements of a child in their teenage years and youth. Several studies have found that an active and lively fathering style is accompanied by better academic results, excellent verbal abilities, and intellectual activeness among teenagers.
Aside from the educational and intellectual impact, the involvement of a father has on a child, and it also has psychological and social influence. Indeed, even from birth, children who have caring and involved dads are bound to be genuinely secure, be sure to explore their environs, and become mature and have better social associations with peers (Leon et al, 2016). Likewise, these children are less inclined to get in a tough situation at school, home, or in the neighborhoods. Newborn children who get high levels of love from their dads, for instance, babies whose fathers react rapidly to their cries and who play together, are all more safely attached. They can investigate their condition serenely when a parent is close by and can promptly acknowledge comfort from their parent after a small partition (Leon et al., 2016). Various research suggests that additionally, they are friendlier and well known with other kids all through their teenage.
Moreover, research done on school-aged kids suggested that an excellent father-child relationship is crucial in protecting children from depression, disruptive behaviors, or lying. This same study showed that boys involved with their fathers are less likely to have trouble in school and indicated that girls with a healthy relationship with their fathers have strong self-esteem (De Santis et al., 2017). In a nutshell, involved fathers have a substantial and positive effect on their children’s health and development.
As a teenager myself, I find this article useful as it explains what we should expect from our fathers and what we should be in the future. This article explains the impact of father involvement in their children’s lives. I have understood that the proper and upright growth of a child relies on how involved a father is. Therefore, it is worthy of creating awareness and programs to equip the right knowledge in the society of the influence of the father’s involvement in bringing up their children.
