Importance of Crime Analysis
Crime analysis is the process of identification and evaluation of the potential sources of crime. It also includes monitoring the trends taken by the criminals and this gives clear information that is used by the law enforcement personnel in organizations. It mainly entails the interpretation of specific crime features and the information obtained from the interpretation is used to prevent further occurrence of criminal activities (Fenelly & Lawrence, 2012). The process of criminal analysis involves the use of science theories and other scientific data as reference materials. Therefore, the practice of analyzing criminal activities is important in order to have a secure architecture design in an organization.
The main importance of crime analysis is to identify and examine the long term security issues facing an organization. These security issues are therefore put into consideration when focusing towards achieving a secure architecture design (Jayakrishnan& Erik, 2020). The information obtained from this analysis is used by the organization to understand the main areas of threat and also understand the potential sources of these threats. This also helps the organization understand the damage that might result if these security issues are not addressed. Therefore, crime analysis is an important aspect when an organization wants to have a secure environment and have a conducive environment for everyone.
Crime analysis is also important in an organization because it enables the organization assess its security measures. This is an important aspect because the organization is in a position to know its weaknesses as well as its strengths in their architectural design (Debopriya et al, 2016). The organization is also able to know the areas that require much more attention and the capability of the organization as whole to handle security threats. Hence, the organization is able to handle security threats with much more concern and improve the architectural design in terms of security measures. Therefore, organizations that conduct crime analysis activities have lower cases of security attacks.
Therefore, crime analysis can be simply defined as the process of identifying and evaluating the criminal activities. It is a process that entails close monitoring of the criminal activities and the trends used by the criminals. It is an important practice as it helps organizations examine and identify security threats and their potential sources which exist within their premises. The analysis is also important because it enables the organization evaluate the security measures put in place and assess their capability. Therefore, crime analysis is an important aspect to consider in order to have a secure architectural design.
