Infrastructures in Texas
Introduction
According to the research carried out in Texas, there has been evidence of the presence of excellent infrastructure which has been leading to many positive impacts. Many people have been in the position to secure jobs, for instance, by getting the labor in the construction of roads, hospitals, and bridges. People have also managed to utilize improved resources. However, there have been several problems that have been hindering improvement as far as infrastructure is concerned. Poor infrastructure has been affecting economic activities of Texas, thus creating the urge to reflect on this issue as a significant problem. This paper explains poor maintenance and inadequate funding of infrastructure in Texas.
There has been increased growth of the population in Texas at a higher rate. The civil engineers of Texas have the moral and ethical responsibility to ensure that there is high-quality infrastructure to enhance the economic activities of the citizens. The poor state of infrastructure has been affecting the financial businesses of the citizens, thus making it a significant challenge in Texas (Morrison & de Wit, 2019). Poor infrastructure has, in turn, been affecting the development of the country. As usual, the government is expected to safeguard the life, welfare, property, and health of the citizens which are achievable through the provision of information to the elected leaders and the public regarding the infrastructure states. By so doing, the development of the country would not be affected (Uribe, Faust & Charnitski, 2019). The public would be in the position to take part in improving and maintaining the infrastructure when they have become knowledgeable. The infrastructure state has been below average which includes the roads, wastewater, highways, dams, flood control, and drinking water. There is, therefore, the need for the government to take part and educate people concerning the infrastructure.
There have been increased demands for airport transport as many people have been willing to travel by air and this has facilitated the market. The government has observed the continuing flooding of the people in the airports, which has created the need for solutions to handle this issue. New terminal facilities should also be constructed to reduce the traffic caused by the increasing numbers of people in the airports (Shahooei et, al. 2018). The ruling power of Texas is expected to take the very immediate action to handle this issue before it goes too far. There should be an increased investment in the infrastructure to meet the demand. Introduction of jets would also be a solution to reduce the traffic. There is also the need for renovation as well as stretching of the old channels. Establishment of some administrations would also be expected to impact positively towards solving this issue (Michel, Gettinger & Michel, 2018). An example of a sector is the Airport Improvement Program, which is established by the Federal Aviation Administration. This sector would play an essential role in the provision of funds for the airfield. This would, in turn, improve capacity and resiliency.
The issue of financial constraints in the field of infrastructure has been affecting Texas in a great way. There has been an insufficiency of funds to support the airline industry (Ebo, 2019). The available money is not able to cater for the expansion and maintenance needs. This has been a major challenge. The economy of Texas is expected to grow higher than the growth of United States and there is the need to solve this issue before it affects the economy. There would be introduction of jets to facilitate utilization of the general aviation airports. This would ease accessibility and cost operation. In order to cater for the problem of infrastructure, establishment of programs is a necessity designed to support this. Such programs are Federal Airport Improvement Program (Santini, 2017). Such programs are expected to carry out maintenance activities in the airports. The elected leaders would also be expected to ensure that the infrastructure is quality. This could be achieved through making funding of the infrastructure a priority. This would enable to meet the requirements of the present and future of the citizens in Texas.
Conclusion
The fact that Texas is growing at rapid rate has brought out the need to reflect on the infrastructure as a government policy problem. There have been many positive implications of the good infrastructure. However, maintenance and insufficiency of funds have been major problems affecting this sector. As seen in the research carried above, air travel has been gaining demand. This in turn has created the need to establish many airports. There is also the need to renovate the existing ones. Insufficiency of funds could be solved by involvement of various programs in the sector of air travel. These programs are expected to provide funds to cater for the unsolved needs. Failure to solve this problem would result into negative implications on the social and economic sectors. With poor transport systems, the items expected to be delivered through this means of transport would go missing. This would make people to be unable to access services and markers. Poverty would also be a result of poor infrastructure. This in turn would prevent mobility and development of Texas. It is therefore important to give attention to the problem of insufficient funding and maintenance of infrastructure.
