The project at hand to be managed by the project manager is the construction of an essential building that will play a vital role in expanding the operations of the company. As the project manager, i consider the construction project one of the most critical projects that the organization is depending on to establish one of the production plants. The organization is focusing on rapidly undertaking the expansion process to increase production. The textile industry has witnessed significant growth due to high demand and being one of the leading companies; we aim to expand and capture the market entirely. The industrial building requires proper attention and due diligence to ensure that the acquired plan suits into the structure. The building to be constructed will house the newly acquired weaving machinery that is used in the production of the important clothing components.
Projects are critical activities in companies because they lead to the development of project goals that ensure focus is maintained on the achievement of the targets. The project to be undertaken will have well-structured goals and objectives to create a source of concentration for all project players to pull their efforts until it is entirely successful. The project’s main goal will be to deliver a well designed and constructed building that can meet industrial standards to allow for the company’s expansion. Secondly, the project will aim to adhere to the scheduled budget by ensuring that all financial costs and expenditures are minimized and captured for continuous value assessment. As the project manager, I will aim to lower the cost and ensure that it runs smoothly and well-financed to deliver quality outcomes. The objective of the project will be to adhere to the programmed timetable for completions. The project will take into consideration the time budget. As the project manager, I will minimize cases of guessing and project incompetence and ensure that proper planning is done for the entire project. The time planned for will be adequate to ensure that it is not merely undertaken hurriedly. The project’s other core objectives will be to ensure the completion of high-level quality outcomes that meet the company’s requirements and other established guidelines. The quality standards will be maintained throughout the project processes, and it will be monitored through continuous assessments.
Project management structure
The project management structure is critical in laying the foundation for completing the project that puts the manager and the team together. Project management structures are developed to create capabilities for achieving quality outcomes, economic efficiency, and optimal resource utilization (Grabania, 2016). A well-structured team brings a sense of coordination and support among team members to ensure that the activities are completed accordingly. As the project manager, I would rely on the project management structure to create an influence of authority to facilitate the successful completion of the project. I will use the projectized organizational structure to organize the project team with the authority vested in the manager of the project. The construction activities will be coordinated under the manager’s direction and as delegated to relevant qualified individuals. Budgets allocated to the team will fall entirely in the manager’s jurisdiction and will ensure that planned schedules and timetables are appropriately managed. The manager will be at the top of the command chain coordinating project teams to offer support services needed in the project.
Customers and Stakeholders
The tailors will be the main customers to take up the project and set up their textile designs that can be weaved by machines into quality products. The customers will play a critical role in the project because they will create customer needs that will require the project to meet them sufficiently. The quality project will be approved if it meets the customers’ requirements, who are the main components of the company. The two main stakeholders in the market will be the government and the company management, who will have roles to serve hence will have an impact on the outcomes of the project. The administration has the role of ensuring that the financial allocations of the project are reimbursed on time to ensure that activities are fully financed. Financial flows need to be consistent in the project to keep the project up and running until completion. A well-financed project usually ends up with high quality outcomes. On the other hand, the government is a vital player through its various institutions tasked with monitoring construction projects and the issuance of relevant certifications. The institutions of government significantly affect the projects because their inspecting and certification pace will determine the completion period and time the project will be delivered to the company customers. Despite designing the project and with the intention to deliver it to the bona fide customers, another stakeholder has some degree of interest in the project. They include financial investors, competitors, and the general public. The various interests will be assessed and addressed by the management team to ensure that they do not affect the project negatively.
The project will be conducted for ten months, and it will be delivered to the company directly before being offered to the customers. It will require resources that will be funded through the financial budget of the project managed by the project manager. The project team is well structured of professional and other support staff team who will coordinate to deliver quality outcomes.
