Our company has been depending on the input from employees where the efforts of each employee always count in the overall success of the company. The company has an overall goal that it would want to achieve at the end of each year while each employee also has their individual goals that count on the overall success of the company. The marketing department in my company has been doing a good job of making the products and services of the company known to the target consumers. Each employee from the department had a goal of sharing the information of the new product that had just been released by the company to many people and attain a 400,000 mark subscribers to our marketing channel. The marketing manager was as well given a goal of ensuring that the new product sells in the new market by using all marketing options that would increase the sale revenue of the product by 20%.
These individual targets given to the marketing department is part of the overall goal that the company has towards ensuring that it grabs the opportunity of fitting in a different market niche that it has been yearning for many years. The goals set by the company aligns with the goals setting theory. For instance, the goals are specific in that they look forward to ensuring that the introduction of the new product in the market would have a positive impact on the performance of the company, especially from the profits that it will gain on the sale of the new product. Besides, the projection of the goals is high to ensure that each employee put an equal effort in ensuring that the company does not fail its success. Setting goals high also increases individual performance, which would show positive results. The goals are measurable as they align to the training that each employee received from the introduction of the new product in the market. Measurability of goals would be effective in tracking the progress that each employee is making towards the success of the overall goals. The goals are also achievable because our company had gone through the process of introducing a new product to a new market. For instance, the goals are realistic and attainable in the end. Relevancy and period also align with the objectives of the company.
The motivation of employees on the achievement of the goals set by our company would aid in boosting the morale of employee to perform. The current level of motivation does not commensurate to the expectation that the company require from employees. Most of my colleague talk of burnout as they sometimes lose hope on the work. The pressure from the management to perform does not also motivate many people to work in favorable environmental s they feel their efforts are in vain. Thus, improving the consistency of the success of the set goals would come from the additional form of motivation to employees. However, motivation should not only be on the monetary value but should be on the relationship that the management has with the employees as well as positive commonest that allow employees to see the worth of their effort in the company.
