Inside Bill’s Brain-Decoding Bill Gates Film.
A brilliant mind, Bill Gates, was born on October 28, 1955, in Seattle, Washington. His father was a lawyer, and his mother was a school teacher. Later in his teen years, Gates was enrolled at Lakeside School, a private school in Seattle. He is linked to Microsoft Corporation where he was the CEO until 2000 and officially ended his roles in the company in 2008 and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Gates is widely known for co-founding Microsoft corporation in 1975 alongside Paul Allen. Gates and Paul Allen, Microsoft quickly became the highest-earning, most remarkable technological company in the world. Directly competing with Apple, (Macintosh in those days) Microsoft chose to sell their operative system, Windows, to the computer manufacturers to have higher chances of earning more significant profits than the competition. Now a day, Microsoft’s bestselling products are its operating system, Windows, the Xbox, videogames, both computer software and hardware, and the popular search engine ‘Bing’. After taking Microsoft to the top of the lists, making it worth $717 billion, Gates decided to spend his time doing philanthropic work.
Along with his wife, Gates co-founded ‘Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’ in Seattle, Washington in the year 2000. The foundation happens to be the largest private foundation in the world, having more than $50 billions of asset worth. Also, it promotes solidarity to least developed countries to provide them with excellent educational resources, and access to global technology and information. Moreover, the foundation focuses on enhancing affordable and immediate healthcare and reducing extreme poverty in the cases of some African countries where the firm has appeared to work. In the documentary,” Inside Bill Brain-Decoding Bill Gates” he works very hard to improve sanitary conditions in the developing countries. He is on the journey to providing innovative ways of providing toilets to the poor.
Management is not all about sitting in the big office and giving commands. A right manager should be a passionate leader who creates a process, influences, has core elements and an encompassing approach. A manager should create a connection that will increase the motivation and morality between the leader and the follower. This creates a bond between the two parties forming a great connection from both and being better at communicating.
My doubts about the job are whether I can be able to manage the many departments in the structure of the company. However, I think it is very enjoyable to be able to manage a foundation which is improving lives in the poor neighbourhoods. A job in such an industry would appeal to me because it would be a lifetime opportunity to solve problems in society, especially in places where it’s a matter of life and death. I would love a job as a head of innovations because this is where the solutions to the problems in the societies are developed and turned into a reality for many people who are in need.
This film is very inspirational to any management student because it proves that with passion and determination to lead, the possibilities to achieve greater things become unlimited. The whole world could possible at your hands, waiting for you to make the difference.
The relevant business outcomes required for this kind of job is to be able to conduct, evaluate and present market research to support an organization’s international business making-decisions. This is because this type of job survives majorly in research, and a manager must understand the dynamics of both technological and market research. The management course should increase the exposure of learners with more practical skills.
The four elements of the SWOT analysis are Strength, weaknesses, opportunities and Threats. The table below shows my strategy as a manager in such a job.
Opportunities | Threats | |
Strengths | I would use strength opportunity strategy to expand and consolidate the market. | Use strength Threat strategy to analyze the trends and adopt market penetration measures.
|
Weaknesses | Use Weakness opportunity strategy to develop a marketing approach.
| Get out of weakness threat area and focus on other strategies which guarantee progress.
