Integration of faith and learning
Decisions, either personal or business-related, are based on the character and personality of an individual. The virtue of nature determines how people carry out the day to day operations in an organization and daily management. A business manager is as well as the leader of the organization. Being a leader and a manager at the same time means balancing several skills and virtues such as self -awareness, decisiveness, fairness, enthusiasm, and many more. Though different leadership styles can be adopted to build and run an active business, the character traits such as those mentioned above should be universal in every manager. Business managers, heads of departments as well as employees with responsibilities in an organization should ensure effective decisions in the organization, which positively affects the organization. The impact of the choices on the community should also be a priority before making decisions. They should aim at positively impacting society as well as promoting its development. There are bible verses in the bible that describe how character affects the running of organizations.
Joshua1;9 is one of the scriptures that can be related to marketing management. It says, ‘have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.’ There are many times in an individual’s life when they are frightened and distressed about the future. They feel unsure about whether or not they are capable of handling what is ahead of them, and if they are, will they pursue it accurately. Managers mostly face with many circumstances where they have to make tough decisions. However, the bible encourages us that no matter the path we are in, God is always with us. Thus we can move in strength and courage, knowing that God is right beside us. This verse encourages us to adopt any plan we may feel capable of achieving as managers as God will never give you something more significant than you can handle. World Kotler and Koller (2012) said that although marketing management is a difficult task, especially in modern competitive, thus, fear should not be a threat.
Other verses that relate to marketing management are luke 8;17, which states that anything done in darkness will arise in light. Any secrets undertaken will emerge once. Managers should, therefore, be careful in their dealings. They should emulate honesty and integrity. Acts such as corruption in business management should
Another good example is 1st t Corinthians 15, which states that ‘do not be deceived; bad company corrupts good morals. The interpretation of this verse is that the company one engages their character. Interacting with people of bad character will also lead to bad character acquisition. Managers, in particular, should ensure they surround themselves with people of good character to ensure effective management of the organization.
In conclusion, as we have seen above, there is a clear relationship between religion and marketing management. Good morals lead to the success of the business and the achievement of the objectives of the firm. It is is essential; therefore, the managers emulate religious values in their business for the need for profitability and working in the right direction. The spiritual knowledge empowers managers to be good leaders and control their activities wisely.
