Internal External Locus of Control

of control is the assignment of blame or fault of incidents and circumstances in our life. That is done we feel that we are in charge of our environment and surrounding and in extent the results and happenings we are getting or are we helpless and disappointed by events and happenings of life. Do an individual think the achievement and realization of individual goals as mere luck, or is it a result of hard work and effort. Internal locus of control is where and of the environment and hence the happenings in life. External locus of control an individual thinks that things happen to the person, and they are not an individual’s effort. Locus of control has significant consequences on the individual’s behaviour, motivation and even the reaction.

Examples of two specific situations where, one where you think having an internal locus of control is better and one where external would work better.

Internal locus of control is better when making personal decisions that help improve individual health, performance and even income. An individual with an internal locus of control trusts that behaviour leads to happenings of events in their life. In other words, individuals with an internal locus of control believe that they are in control of their environment and hence their life happenings. External locus of control is better when an individual need to accept the loss of a loved one this because they can pass the responsibility to other persons and factors. External locus of control helps them to move on fast as they believe that they could not help out the situation for it was out of hands.

How do you think historical events up to now have shaped your personalities and that of other people from your culture who are close to you in age?

The evolution and the success of locus control is a connection of family. The historical style of the family, disposal of resources the given family has, the stability of culture and lastly by the happenings and experiences of that given family. Different families have different modelling, and for the internal beliefs, such families put more emphasis on education, individual effort, thinking and even responsibility. In some cases, parents reward children for attributes. The effect of this is highly motivated and responsible families. The externals are related to and associated with low social-economic status. The expectancies being out of hand and control.in my case the family has been very supportive and objective in the development of character.

How do you think your parents’ and grandparents’ personalities and attitude differ from those of your generation?

Over the last few years, our generation that is the young generation, mostly in college is becoming more external in their beliefs. This increase in an external locus of control among the young age has effects on the individual’s point of view, the impact on perception and even the conduct of the person. This generation blames others and luck when things go the wrong way; hence they do not take responsibility for the happening in the organization. The age of our parents and grandparents are the more internal locus of control, and they take responsibility for all the happenings in the organization,

How do you think the Personalities of children being born today might differ from yours because of historical and generational factors?

Differences in beliefs, values and opinions from one generation of people to another are called the generation difference. The personality of children being born today, in my view, is different from our generation. The generation belongs born today is marked and characterized by high internet presence and high technologies. Internet and this technology may make them forget and abandon the interpersonal relationship as they prefer giving their views to the social course on the internet. The generation will be solution-oriented and needs the answers to life question very fist.
