Interview methods
There is no doubt that technology is constantly changing the world and how we see it. It has changed the way recruiters and HR professionals carry out their tasks such as recruitment, which has become more creative and innovative these days. To get the talent, an organization desperately needs means recruiters being aware of and getting familiarized with the current and rising recruitment trends. Traditional methods of interviewing candidates that have been in place for decades now are being replaced by more fun and efficient ways of interviewing, which focus on assessing candidates’ soft skills.
Some of the best interviewing techniques that I believe would work best for my company would be job auditions, soft skills assessments, and meeting in casual settings for the interviews. The reason why these techniques would be best integrated into our company is that our line of work is mainly IT. Many IT companies are looking for the ability of candidates to show passion in their work, have good technical and problem-solving skills. The best way to evaluate a candidate’s passion, personality, and problem-solving skills would be through soft skills assessment and meeting them in casual settings to make them feel relaxed and easy. To gauge their technical skills, job auditions are best to see how best they would maneuver through tough job situations and come up with a solution. This also gives candidates a feel of the job and what is expected. The current methods employed in our company for recruitment involve unstructured interviews held by a panel of up to four people for all candidates, and this can sometimes be uncomfortable and tense for the candidates. Employers such as Google and Apple are nowadays using fun and interactive ways, such as using riddles to interview their candidates and sift through the best talent. Since these methods do not involve huge investments and get the job well done, I think they are some of the best ways to get the highest talent.
