Jeffrey Dahmer
The video analyzes the Jeffrey Dahmer, a serial killer who was sentenced for nine hundred years due to his engagements in serial killing. The interview with Dahmer’s family her mother tell of how Jeffrey was a happy young man who loved nature and animals, and she did everything she would as apparent to bring the best character out of him. Dahmer’s father, on the other hand, explains of unexplainable darkness that crept into Dahmer’s life as he observed weird behaviours during his childhood. The case illustrates how family issues inevitably psychologically harmed Jeffrey’s life. According to Philips video, (2017), Among the problems that affected Jeffrey and triggering his engagement in the serial killing was the issue of homosexuality, where he felt that involving himself in the killing would make him feel better and thrive out of the situation. He witnessed his parent’s quarrels, and their divorce may have impacted Jeffrey’s feelings, abandonment, and isolation. Dahmer used various tactics to make sure that his parents did not discover his killings; he had to lie so that his parents would not discover. The Dahmer’s case poses many questions to his parents, and whether they failed as parents that they did not prevent that character.
In my opinion, Dahmer’s character poses to be rooted during his childhood and not gene inheritance as his father claims nor the medics his mother took during Dahmer’s pregnancy. The series of events that happened during his childhood pose to be the underlying cause of his character. Despite his father commenting that he had such a personality during his childhood that pose to be a possibility of gene transfer, on my side does, does not prove to be the source of the Dahmer’s personality since his father was shy during his school time, for Jeffrey was not shy but isolated himself from the rest. I feel like the traumatizing events in Dahmer’s childhood lays the basis for the character. Jeffrey’s involvement in double hernia surgery may have significantly affected his social personality, and he was struggling with inferiority, opting to isolate himself from the rest. Dahmer’s parent divorce also contributes to the character, homosexuality, and loneliness drove him to engage in serial killing. It is for sure without a doubt that the events led to his engagement in serial killing, Dahmer wanted to satisfy his urges, and cannibalism made him feel that the victims were part of him. In a nutshell, the neglect from parents who had less time for him and abuse during his childhood may have contributed significantly for Dahmer’s later murders.
