Job Description for Community Outreach for Profit and Non-Profit Health Organization
Details of the Organization
Our organization is a profit and non-profit health organization with a private wing and a public wing. It caters to the poor and vulnerable in society through donations and charity events aimed at gathering as much financial help for this purpose as possible. A proportion of funds derived from the private department are also directed unto this public wing of the organization.
The organization has created an outreach program that aims at delivering quality health care to the most underdeveloped parts of the community. Such will be through mobile clinics and awareness campaigns for the free screening of various lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and various cancers such as lung, breast, and prostate cancers. The program will be guided by the following mission and vision statements.

Job Summary
The director of outreach will be responsible for ensuring the goals of the outreach program are met. He or she will be responsible for creating, implementing, and managing outreach programs and projects that deliver health services to various factions of the community. The director of outreach will also be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing awareness campaigns of the various diseases for the outreach program. This position is fulltime and salaried.
Functions
Partnership Development
Develop partnerships between the organization’s outreach program and various stakeholders such as similar programs, key health institutions, and financial institutions to enable the program to run smoothly.
Communications
This should ensure continuous communication between the organization’s management and that of the outreach program to ensure the program’s goals are outlined to that of the organization. The organization should also ensure that problems and challenges are reported to the organization to ensure synergy between the two bodies. Oversee communication and cooperation between project leaders of the different projects and activities of the outreach program to ensure the effective use of resources.
Program Development
Develop and implement outreach programs, activities, projects, and campaigns that reach the target audience. These should aim at fighting lifestyle diseases and the two cancers covered by the outreach program.
Management and Coordination
Oversee and coordinate the different projects and activities of the outreach program. The various projects will have different budgets, funders, project teams, and timelines. The director of outreach should ensure all these programs go on smoothly and achieve the common goals of the whole outreach program.
Managing Director Responsibilities
The director of outreach programs will perform various functions in the capacity of a managing director. These include staffing, resource management, budgeting, and financial functions, preparing reports, and reporting the outreach programs’ results and progress to the health institution’s boardroom, among others.

Decide on the best strategies to be used to achieve the objects of the outreach program
Qualifications
- Have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized and accredited university in business/finance management or related fields.
- Have a minimum of 5 years in managing and supervising outreach programs.
- A Masters in Business management will be a bonus.
- Have excellent leadership, communication, management, and organization skills.
- Be a good planner and strategist.
- Have high business operations insight and awareness.
- Have excellent crisis resolution, conflict mediation, and problem-solving skills.
- Possess excellent analytical, financial planning, and management skills.
Work Environment
The holder of this position will work in an office setting, attend and hold meetings, and in outdoor settings to visit and inspect various project settings. Working hours may change by the various ongoing programs and needs.
Physical Demands
The job will require mobility, as the director may visit and inspect different project sites. The job will also require long sitting and working hours. Therefore candidates are encouraged to have no physical disabilities that may hinder the performance of the various functions.
