Leadership Dimension
This research report is based on a manager I worked under, while I was a salesperson. The manager showed a high level of expertise, experience and wisdom. Therefore, the manager could control the situation lead as an example and always came up with the best of strategies while handling an issue that affected a working environment.
Leadership Styles
According to the Hersey-Blanchard Model, no leadership style can be considered as being better than another. However, the model doesn’t focus on factors of a workplace, but it urges leaders to be able to adjust to their styles to the people that follow them and their abilities. Hence, the model suggests that for leadership to be successful, there is a need for relevance in terms of tasks and relationships (Raza & Sikandar, 2018).
Pacesetting Style
The manager was a very driven leader who set the pace for everyone in the working environment. He usually set targets that were very hard to achieve but made sure that he pushed all the members to the extreme, making sure everyone achieves the set target. However, the manager made sure that he avoids hurting the members while pushing them to achieve the set target.
Democratic Style
The manager liked to share information with the employees about things that directly affected the working environment. In doing so, he made sure he collects opinions from employees before settling to a decision. Therefore, he made sure he created space for creativity, helping people under him to grow and develop (Woods, 2020).
Coaching Style
The manager used this style in making sure that he unlocks the potentials of the employees under him. In his leadership, he believed that everyone has the power within themselves. Therefore, coaching would help people to tap into their abilities and being able to achieve what they are capable of doing.
