LGBTQ community
The community entails various views on certain aspects that differ across the board, making their discussion relevant to educate on some of the pertinent issues. One of them is the issue of the LGBTQ that has often faced ridicule and an insult to their rights, given some having a negative attitude regarding the group. The struggle in demanding for their freedoms is captured in the Stonewall Riot that brought subsequent changes in the American constitution to contemporary times.
The LGBTQ community faced tons of negativities as society failed to assimilate their attributes with a charge against same-sex relationships. The Stonewall Riot ensued in 1969 reflecting an insult to police brutality through spontaneous and violent protests by members of the LGBTQ community in New York. The group gained influence from the civil rights movement that championed for equal treatment of all in America, especially the minority groups that suffered from negative perceptions. The efforts of the LGBTQ cluster were in seeking an audience with the public to prove that they could be assimilated into society following acceptance and a drop of castigations. It resulted in movements championing for gay rights and the freedom of expression as enshrined in the constitution. It is through the sporadic events over the years and the intense demand for recognition that resulted in the passage of Equality Act that bans the discrimination that ensues based on gender identity and sexual orientation.
The LGBTQ faced tons of adversities owing to society failing to accept them and assimilate them based on their attributes. The affront to their rights and freedom of expression led to the Stonewall Riot that sought to address the mentioned issues. The constitution has engaged amendments though much is still needed to be done with a gap due to negative perceptions.
