maternal and neonatal death

Introduction

The call by different global health agencies to end the maternal and neonatal death is an undeniable positive move to save lives globally as it is captured in the Sustainable Development Goals’ of the provision of healthy living to people of all age groups (Barredo, Agyepong, Liu & Reddy, 2015). The core purpose of this move is to ensure that every child born globally reaches five years old, with no woman lost due to giving birth or pregnancy complications.  The majority of the maternal and neonatal causalities occur in medical centers with a low level of resource settings. Some of these can be prevented by putting more emphasis on strengthening health systems and processes such as caregiving during pregnancy, labor pain, and delivery, and immediately after birth. To achieve all these, leadership in any healthcare center plays a central role in this success and majorly to those in maternity centers. In any working environment, attire and uniformity of workers contribute a lot to the success of the institution and the same to Hospitals. This paper describes the updated policy on hospital attire in the workplace and why any health system should adopt such policies. Hospital attire at the workplace is a critical tool for enhancing efficiency in service delivery to the clients who are majorly the patients. Uniformity, concerning the job one, is performing should be adopted and embraced by any healthcare institution.

To ensure that the vision and mission of the policy are achieved in the long run, the committee will, therefore, be constituted by four different interdisciplinary departments that will work together in achieving the agreed objectives. Each department will consist of at most two officers. The least academic qualification for one to be in the committee is a bachelor’s degree with not less than five years of relevant experience.  The departments will include:

Finance Department

The finance department will be responsible for accounting for all the resources allocated for the project.

The accountant shall ensure that he/she keeps all financial books and avail them anytime need be.

The finance department shall also be responsible for the purchase of all the requirements, as stated in the approved budget.

Research and Development Department

The research and development department shall play a central role in sourcing the new trends in the attires in other institutions that are not associated with health.

The department shall, therefore, come up with the most appropriate attire for health workers, and that is likely to be accepted by all health workers.

The department shall also calculate the cost of shifting from the current trend in health centers to the new direction of introducing uniform attire to all health workers in the country.

According to Senthilkumar et al., (2017), the department shall also be responsible for coming up with the best design of attire for health workers while in their workplaces.

Monitoring and Evaluation Department

The monitoring and evaluation department shall oversee the progress of each department towards the assigned roles.

The department shall also be responsible for setting dates and deadlines for each activity.

The department shall also be responsible for making appropriate adjustments depending on the essentiality.

The work is expected to take off immediately; the proposed budget is approved. For the purpose of communication, each officer will have to provide his/her official email to the ICT department. The ICT Officer will also form a WhatsApp group platform for information sharing, exchange, and dissemination.

All team members are expected to complete their tasks in two months and a comprehensive report sent to the Monitoring and Evaluation department for documentation and compilation. After that, the monitoring and evaluation will develop the final copy that will be presented to the project manager for approval.

Conclusion

The assessment of the project progress shall be done every week to ensure that the final product matches the desired goals and objectives of the project.
