Medical Physics MSc
Medical Physics MSc suits my childhood dream of becoming a radiologist. I have longed to work as a medical doctor who specialises in diagnosing and treating using different imaging techniques. Taking Medical Physics MSc will equip me with the appropriate skills to pursue my dream career. I core modules like radiation measurement, radiation physics, and diagnostic applications of ionising radiation physics relates to my future career goals. The Kenyan health sector lacks enough skilled radiologists, which makes it hard to make a timely diagnosis of conditions like cancer. The high demand for radiology services increases the cost of obtaining quality healthcare services. Successful completion of the Medical Physics MSc will allow me to take an active part in providing viable solutions to the current challenges facing the Kenyan healthcare system.
The nature of the lessons offered in various modules in Medical Physics MSc suits my educational needs. For instance, attributes developed in every module in Medical Physics MSc include cognitive or analytical, transferable skills, subjective knowledge, and professional or practical skills. I feel that attaining these attributes will have a positive contribution to my career. Besides, the combinations of the learning methods like formal lectures, occasional large group tutorials, and question sessions will enhance my knowledge acquisition. These teaching methods will ensure that I acquire the qualifications to work as a radiologist.
I intend to pursue a PhD in Medical Physics in the future, which will allow me to contribute towards policy development in Kenya. The Medical Physics MSc will form the basis for my future educational goals. The modules in Medical Physics MSc will provide the necessary knowledge required to pursue the intended PhD course in the future. Successful completion of the PhD in Medical Physics will enable me to take an active part in the expansion and improvement of current health policies in Kenya.
