Mental Health Issues

As the world stands today, there are increased cases of mental issues that are continually reported. There is an increase in psychiatric diseases and associated deaths in the recent past globally. In our current society, there are a lot of places that mental health issues are highly recorded to be associated. The family and workplace remain as the places that more causes of these issues arise. In this essay, the possible solutions that must be put in place to avoid the workplace mental issues are described.

Firstly, fellow employees have a bigger responsibility in addressing the issue. Since mental health is all about how we feel and behave, there is a need for the whole team to pile up in eradicating the menace. The management should come up with stress management education to all their employees. Within the labor force, there should be peers who majorly deal with the well-being of these employees once a peril befalls a member. Additionally, there should be programs and activities that equip the employees with the willpower of facing uncertainties — an example in the peers introducing a trusted group that deals with the counseling.

Secondly, there is a need for a supportive work environment. Employers need to invest much more in the welfare of the employee. This is per Ccohs.ca info graphical online. There is a need to optimize work processes, recognize contributions for individual performance, and lastly, develop a conflict resolution process within the firm. In such a setting, there will be a case where openness will be developed and dialogue enhanced, thereby reducing the instances of these mental issues.

Subsequently, there is the cost value incurred in its implementation. The universal truth is that companies need to commit an added value in setting up the mentioned strategies. There are arguments on the plan being costly. However, when the cost of the effect of mental health is analyzed against cost, there is a need for workplaces to invest in their working environment for better productivity (Gabriel & Liimatainen, 2000).

In conclusion, there is a need for more sensitization of mental health globally. Daily there are reported effects of mental illness in workplaces.  Stress contributors need to be addressed to lower the consequences, as discussed.
