Michael Goguen Transforming Society through Philanthropic Works
Michael Goguen is a native of New England. He is currently a permanent resident of Whitefish town in Montana. Goguen is a successful entrepreneur that derives passion from transforming the community by positively impacting the lives of those around him. Earlier, Goguen had lived in Silicon Valley for three decades, offering technical services before relocating to his current Montana residence. Since his arrival in Montana, Goguen developed an immediate attachment to the community and embarked on helping new entrepreneurs to build innovative ventures that benefit the broader community. The following are some of his endeavors.
Philanthropic Works
Goguen and his wife Jamie have involved themselves in extensive philanthropic works that have continued to serve society. For example, the couple donated cash amounting to $50,000 to Code Girls United in March 2019 to help the group offer free coding classes to girls.
While receiving the funds, Code Girls United’s leaders thanked the couple for their help and said that the funds would go a long way to support the not-for-profit group seeking to empower girls with modern technology. Goguen said that he was happy that the funds would help girls to acquire crucial skills that will enable them to remain updated to the rapidly evolving technology.
He established Two Bear out of Montana, a company that has contributed immensely to air rescue missions in the Inland Northwest for almost seven years. The air company took part in over 500 rescue missions by celebrating its 5th anniversary. With the aid of sufficiently equipped choppers, Two Bear Air helps local government and private agencies in the process of locating and rescuing individuals stranded in inaccessible places such as the wilderness or those with emergency medical needs.
Despite its location in Whitefish, Montana, Goguen’s company has carried several rescue missions in Inland Northwest. One of its successful rescue operations was in 2016 when a team from Two Bear rescued skiers stranded at Lookout Pass.
Goguen also played an active role in rescuing victims of the October 2017 shoot-out incident in Las Vegas, where he was attending Jason Aldean Concert. The stampede that claimed the lives of 59 people leaving at least 527 injured took place when a gunman started shooting at people attending the Las Vegas event. Goguen and Stephenson helped the victims to be rushed to hospitals and trauma centers.
Goguen’s honors
Michael Goguen received an award for his exemplary dedication and commitment to transform the lives of the Whitefish community residents. The Whitefish award is among the highest recognition that citizens receive for displaying diligence and selflessness in serving the community.
The award presented during the 2019 Whitefish Chamber of Commerce’s yearly gala was evidence of Goguen’s determination to improve his community’s lives. Lin Akey praised Goguen for his philanthropic works by mentioning the $500,000 donation that the couple made to North Valley Food Bank to facilitate its community outreach activities. Lin said other numerous charitable actions that Goguen had taken place in earning him the prestigious award.
