Microplastics

The environment is one of the essential elements in the lives of human beings. The conditions that are present in the environment directly affect human beings. The presence of a conducive environment will result in good health in human beings while when there is a bad environment, there will be several complications that will be experienced. The pollution of the environment is one of the issues that has been on the rise latterly. The rate at which the environment is polluted is increasing daily and it has become an issue of concern that requires immediate attention. The activities of human beings is the major issue that results in the pollution of the environment. Human beings used different items daily, and they dispose of them. Some of these items are disposed of wrongly, and they have contributed to the increased level of environmental pollution. One of the common items that human being use daily is the plastics. Plastics are present every because they are used for different purposes such as packaging of products, utensils, and cans. These plastics tend to disintegrate into smaller pieces which are mostly known as micro plastics whose size is less that 5 millimeter. There are no mechanisms that have been put in place to enhance the collection of these plastics. As the big plastics are disposed of, these microplastics remain since they are unnoticed. As a result, there are a lot of micro plastics that have been left unattended to, and they have become the major polluters of the environment. This issue has created a great concern among many people and ways on how to deal with its have to be device. One of the ways that has been proposed is to get rid of plastics from the environment and begin using the degradable items. As much as this rule might help to a certain extent, it is not easy to get rid of plastics. Also, getting rid of plastics is not the only way that can help to reduce the presence of micro plastics because they are caused by other factors such as cosmetics, clothes, as well as the industrial activities.

There are various parties who will be influence by this rhetorical discourse. One such group are the environmental agencies. The environmental agencies deal with the activities that are associated with protecting the environment. This discourse will enlighten this agency regarding the presena ce of high quantity of micro plastics on the environment and them the major polluters. This information will help them to develop ways that they can used to reduce the number of micro plastics in the environment. (Vince and Hardesty 123) In the larger perspective, the human race is a risk of environmental pollution due to the presence of these micro plastics. Every person interacts with the environment, daily and they are at risk of getting in contact with these micro plastics which may have a harmful effect on their health. There is a high quantity of these micro plastics that are carried into the water bodies. In the water bodies, these micro plastics will then be consumed by the living organisms such as fish. These micro plastics which have been taken by the fish will later be consumed by human beings who are at the end of the food chain. This information is evident because scientist have sampled eighteen species of fish whereby most of them were found to contain a particular degree of micro plastics in their systems. This concept shows that human health is constantly at risk of being affected due to the presence of these plastics which might cause diseases such as cancer or respiratory problems. When human beings become aware of this matter, they will fear for their, lives and as a result, they will mediate for change to save humanity. There will be some people who will rise up as activities advocating for the reduction of plastics as well as the chemicals that are used in industries and to manufacture different items. These groups might propose the use of plastics that are less harmful and they are biodegradable.

As identified earlier, the effects that are associated with

the presence of micro plastics in the environment seem detrimental to the heath of human beings and other living organisms. Therefore, action has to be done to deal with problem but there are some constraints which might be experienced. Human beings are the main factors that will constrain the action that will be undertaken to effect the change. The nature of human beings is that most of them are ignorant. There are various strategies that may be developed to prevent the increased number of micro plastics in the environment such as proper disposal of plastic materials in their designated areas (Silva, et al., 17). Some people will go ahead and ignore this recommendation and continue disposing plastics just as they wish which continues to destroy the environment. Therefore, as much as the measures are implemented to bring the change, it will not be successful. Also, people will constrain the decision as well as the action required to bring the change because there are some who may oppose banning of certain chemicals or plastics. In most cases, these are individuals who own the companies that produce these products because they fear that they will experience huge losses. As a result, the problem will continues and human health will constantly be in danger. Relation is the third element that can affect the decision as well as the action that is required to implement change(Silva, et al., 18). Good relationship is important in this case. There are different parties that will have to be involved to help in the development of action to get rid of this issue. These parties have to make sure that they have a good relationship so that there wian ll be understanding on the approach to be taken. In case there is a bad relation between the stakes holders involved, they will be unable to have a common agreement on the action to take. Therefore, this problem will not be solved and it may continue to harm varies people. The other issue that may affect the action needed to effect the change is funds. Funding is the most important element because it helps in acquiring the resources required to deal with this issue. When there is adequate funding, the activities that have been developed to deal with the presence of micro plastics on the environment will not be carried out effectively. However, when there is adequate funds, these activities will be conducting swiftly and ensure that the action is implemented and the problem is solved. Another issue that can constrain decision making as well as the actions required to influence change is objects (Sherman and Van Sebille 67). There are certain objects that are created using plastics and they are need by human beings for their survival daily. Getting rid of these objects is hard. Therefore, these objects will continue being used and they will still result in high amount of micro plastics in the environment. The last factor that may affect the change is events. Various events have to be acquired out to create awareness on the harmful effects that has been caused by these plastics. Awareness will help people to understand why they need to d ofispose different types of plastics properly. Failure to hold these event will make most people not to be aware of the harmful effects of p;lastic hence they will continue dis ofposing them carelessly.
