Quote 1
According to Frederick the Great, it doesn’t matter to which religion an individual subscribes to but what is important is the respect of other people’s Faith as one exercises their religion Faith in the public. There should be the exercise of freedom of religion on the public, and there is such a traditional doctrine and right or wrong, a better or a worse doctrine from the other (Fredrich). According to Fredrick or religions believe in the same deity and in superstition where they are controlled by a supernatural being or force through which they follow by Faith without questioning. In his, quote Frederick tries to diminishing the deep prejudices and discrimination based on the religion subscription of individual showing that we are all bound and controlled by the superstition believe regardless of whether we all believe in different religions and faiths from each other. The quote is indeed important since it retaliates that there is right doctrine and we should exercise our religion concerning the freedom of religion where one is free to subscribe to any religion or choose not to without being judged.
Quote 2
According to the quote of Samuel Smiles concerning the spirit of self –help it is paramount for one to love themselves to be able to serve others and love others. According to Samuel, he generates his quote from the biblical reference of God helps those who help themselves (Smiles). Therefore for some else to love another and also become loved, they should learn to love themselves truly. It is true when we consider the quote since everybody likes to be done how they would like to do to others and the love for humanity begins with the self-love of an individual since from it they learn the importance of love. The quote is significant in the context of historical and present social relations in the society where it helps to overcome the differences exhibited by individuals by sharing the love which we learn from loving ourselves and appreciating the worth of love and self-help thus becoming able to contributing positively to the humanity.
Quote 3
Based on the historical context of discrimination the quote of Napoleon helps address the discrimination in the workforce and the society where he acknowledges the significance of careers based on the skills and not from any distinction of birth or fortune (Truesdell). He appreciates the role of governance and recognizes the power of the people in the rule of the country. Through Napoleon, the issue of democracy is addressed and gives power to the people and not the leaders who use their role in subjecting their rules to the people by subjecting fear and also serving their interests. The rule of a country should, therefore, become exercised through a democratic rule and also enforce some monarch powers which help in balancing the powers of government and protecting the interests of the nation. As napoleon suggests, there is no inclusive democratic governance since a government can’t rule its people with absolute democracy.
Quote 4
Thomas Paine thoughts of the different religions being human interventions set up to terrify and enslave humankind, and monopolize power and profits is in the social and economic perspective true. All the religions of Jewish, Christian or Turkish believe in the same deity and are controlled by the same beliefs of superstition power and being (Paine). Therefore if religion is also dependent on the human’s conscious the nature of the religion sharing the same faith calls for the same practice and ways. However, the different religions have become extreme in creating differences among them and also has emerging differences amidst the same religion with different practices. The existence of different religions doesn’t show how they address morality in society. It only indicates how people are enriching themselves through the establishment of these religious places of worship. The quote is also significant in addressing the prejudices and discriminations based on different religion of a person and also to indicate there is no superior religion.
