Music industrial environment and marketing
I remember that as a child I tried to analyze the music. The music that sounded around me throughout my conscious life, was never perceived simply as a background, on the contrary, always raised thousands of questions such as Who performs it, Why sing this, About What and How he sings? In my adolescence, when hip-hop culture appeared, I was fascinated by rhythm and lyrics, the questions shifted their focus and focused on the technical part. How to record vocals, how to make a vocal effect, how a song is structured.
Trying to answer these questions, I began to strive to achieve the same sound, first learning the vocal techniques, and later the way of rhyming on the instrumental and the creation of the instrumental itself. At that time I especially admired creativity. of Mary J. Blige, Allaya, Missy Elliott and the artists who have made a name for themselves in all decades of hip-hop, and I myself was a member of one of the first rap groups to perform with backing vocals.
I decided to do something on my own and chose to do a cover of “every day it rains” by Mary J. Blige and record it professionally in the local studio. The owner of the studio made my instrumental and it was the one behind the counter. raised the next question- Which cable is for what and how is it possible to work with so much equipment. Then the spark and love for music technology ignited in me.
My enthusiasm grew to the point that I decided to try writing rap lyrics and make my own beats. In 2016 my dream came true to study a bachelor’s degree in my passion – music technology. When I saw the equipment at the University of East London and the modules that will study I could not believe that this is happening to me.3 years of hard work and dedication to master the skill of working with music technology, I gained valuable knowledge throughout the process of creating a music product, from the origin of the idea and its composition with Logic to the live performance in the form of a DJ performance with Ableton and VJ Ing, by triggering a video sample in real time ebouse plugin.
While studying for a bachelor’s degree, I also learned about the particularly strong role of music in combining with a visual image. In my work on sounding commercials, animations and logos, I became acquainted with foils and sound design art.
During the production of 7 Sisters, I had the opportunity to experiment with multitrack recording and studio mixing with Pro-Tools and collaborate with various talented musicians from all walks of life, exploring compression, ECU, and working with effects.
I summarized this whole process in continuous analyzes in the form of essays and scientific reports. Which I admit were quite voluminous. But I managed, thanks to the unquenchable thirst for knowledge and perseverance.
After graduating, I worked on a lot of volunteer projects like life sound engineering at local open mike events, like the up beat project of the Forest Gates Arts organization, composing music production for an interactive immersive project world in a box, producing music for football advertising logos private media, Evima football, private Bulgarian media and video editing of educational lessons for children’s video TV “Music Teacher” I am currently working with other producers from Poland and America on joint projects, I am just discovering the musical collaboration with people from other cultures and her I find it especially interesting because you work with people with different musical backgrounds
During my research on Sample or Theft, I also began to look for answers to questions about the legal side of music.
I still have a lot to learn and others to improve in order to be successful and flexible in this extremely competitive environment. The things I have yet to get acquainted with as a music industrial environment and music marketing will introduce me to the legal and business side of music. The disciplines of physical computing, micro controllers coding will be especially useful for me and will teach me how to make my own plugins and how. to work in game sound.
