Mystical Moments
Mystical moments are events that flout the rationality of the human mind. Mystical moments could be said to be the sixth sense that manifests in thoughts, happenings, and dreams that go against logic. The subject does not have to tell himself/herself what realities were then being revealed to him/her at the time of the experience. Sometimes, the realization may come after the experience. Mystical moments like premonitions, clairvoyant thoughts, and synchronistic moments have positive contributions towards mind-body-spirit health since mystical moments connect the mind to the physical environment and the spirit.
Premonition is a mystical moment when a subject dreams about an event or someone that later becomes a reality. In other words, premonitions could be described as a window through which subjects glimpse their connection with one another and with the infinite (Dossey, 2011). For example, during his sleep, a boy dreams that his mother has been in a fatal road accident. He then calls his mother, who is in a business meeting two hours away, to warn her against traveling back home on the same day. Reluctantly, his mother spends the night. The following morning, the boy and his mother are shocked to see reports of a fatal accident involving the bus she was scheduled to travel in. The boy’s dream was a connection of the body, mind, and spirit of him and his mother – two individuals who have experienced a greater force.
With the above example in mind, one could say that premonitions are a form of medicine, preventive medicine. Premonitions warn people about threats to their health. “They probably arose early in our evolutionary development in the predator-prey relationship, because any organism that knew when danger would happen in the future could take measures to avoid it” (Dossey, 2011).
Synchronicities refer to meaningful coincidences that flout natural explanations because they share timings that are too convenient, and they also solve problems on various fronts. It is believed that synchronistic moments are an articulation of the universe. If individuals listen to this language of the universe and put to practice the guidelines that come with it, they could benefit a lot from it. The benefits of implementing these guidelines could spread to save the whole universe. Synchronicities like meeting old friends when one needs a friend has a lot of positive health effects. Meeting old friends when one needs a friend could be therapeutic. People feel the need for friends when they’re depressed. In-depth conversations could help reduce stress and depression, and more when the old friend is a therapist.
Clairvoyants are individuals with massive visual ability. They can conjure up detailed images and scenes in their imaginations or daydreams, and their minds can solve visual puzzles automatically. Clairvoyants can use symbols and pictures to see through their minds to achieve a more profound meaning in the world. People with this ability can see how things connect and could figure out the cause of things. Identifying the connection between issues could help one avoid health hazards like diseases or activities that could lead to depression.
Skepticism refers to applying critical thinking and reason in figuring out the validity of things and ideas. Learning to act instantly help reduce skepticism. Playing with children and playing like children is one way one can learn to let loose. Also, reading mystical books by enlightened people could go a long way in informing individuals about mystical moments. Most skeptics do try to look for answers and shreds of evidence in mystical moments because they do not understand the nature of mystical moments. Reading about mystical moments could be a starting point in reducing skepticism about mystical moments.
