Networking is a group of computers interconnected via a node or wireless medium to communicate with each other. The connected devices include computers, printers, scanners, and fax machines. Networking helps to send or share information to other devices from one location to another via a particular medium device. To make a successful network, we must use network components such as a router, hub, router, cable, and many others depending on physical and logical topology needs. The component includes the message; defined as a data or the information which needs to transfer from one location to another. Secondly, the sender; this is known as the vehicle or the media by which this message is transmitted. This media must work through the network. Their component is the receiver; a receiver is known as the device or person which is meant to receive the data. The final component is the protocol, this is defined as a set of rules which are designed and agreed upon by both the sender and the receiver. Without these rules, there can be a connection between the devices but they may not communicate because there are no rules that guide through communication. For instance, the two major protocols that are vital in any network are HTTP and FTP which are essential when accessing resources which include client and server-based devices. The proliferation of network connectivity to critical infrastructures such as electrical grid, utility networks, finance, and many others that are used to deliver advanced information services to learning institutions, homes, businesses, and government. The World Wide Web is considered as the fastest growing network and users can exchange multi-media between different users remotely using hypertext links. The internet is growing rapidly given fact that the cost of infrastructure is relatively cheap and all countries are supporting this technology transfer such as bilateral donors. The network and internet have various advantages such as faster problem solving compared to manual approach and long-distance. Documents can be retrieved and sent within a lesser time for example job applications are studies are done online due to internet and computer network especially during pandemics. Network and internet make innovation more flexible and adaptable to clients, especially when they surf and access services. Security authorization and validation can be added easily through architecture and system protocol. Data sharing has been made easy through server computers and cloud computing regardless of system. Data storage, backup, and recovery have advanced through innovation, and records can be shared, retrieved, or manipulated in real-time through the node or file servers. Anyone can connect to a network as long avail provision data resources or bundle is made, though may require training skills to utilize network resources. Monitoring systems and digital surveillance have been archived for example in smart cities where epidemics and crime rates can be predicted with the help of artificial intelligence. The network architecture is consists of hardware, software, protocols, and media of transmission. The client or server is very expensive and has a network operating system. It requires a dedicated network and very appropriate to manage resources. Furthermore, there are various motivations for designing network connectivity eases the hiring of the employees and the expansion of the business. Many jobs are advertisements and interviews are done online, and the majority of job seekers are utilizing internet resources .67 percent of the world has to access the internet to either device or personal computer. There are various limitations of networking and include a lack of robustness. Personal Computer server works separately and this makes a framework more futile. Bridging the device such as a central server may be difficult and entire may be brought to a standstill. Network security is a key challenge and daily practice of protecting unauthorized intrusions and requires both hardware and software preventive measure that thoroughly protects underlying infrastructure through a defense in depth. Security includes protection using the right configuration and detection that helps detect the problem such as network traffic and these can be archived using a variety of specialized techniques. Lack of independence is demerit where individual depends too much on a personal computer to exert jobs that need to be done; sometimes making framework futile this makes the clients inactive. The cost of installing and setting up a network is easy and comes with the extra cost of maintenance. To design a complete topology requires network experts to ensure the right configuration and internet protocol is secure. The security of a network is very costly due to frequent updates that must be applied to computer networks against external attacks. Digital bullying and internet addiction among the challenges facing the young generation despite many benefits of communication and easy payment that change lifestyle and culture. Physical safety precautions include storing device in a secure location, restricting open access, and using video surveillance to detect any attempt across the network.Other solutions that can be implemented to improve the network are firewalls, encryptions, network segmentation, antivirus software, and multi-factor authentications. A combination of different techniques will ensure the network is secure and meets the needs of an organization.
