Network security threats and how to prevent them
There are various network threats that an administrator may face. One of these is computer viruses. This kind of threat is known to contaminate or rather affect quite a number of systems in the network that they invade. Viruses tend to affect the normal functioning of the system and network. Besides, it should be noted that some viruses come in to destroy the system, thus rendering it useless in case action is not taken in good time. To prevent him or herself from this, the administrator should consider using antiviruses such as Kaspersky, among other packages that are available in the market.
The other common network security threat is wifi attacks. In this case, the intruders may hack on the wifi that is used by the administrator. This is usually achieved by stealing the login credentials that belong to such a network. With such at hand, it becomes easier for the attacker to log in to the network and take advantage of the internet. In order to prevent this from happening, the administrator should ensure that he or she bolsters access control. In such a case, he or she should consider using a password that is not easy to remember. Apart from that, such a person may consider not sharing his or her password with anyone. Besides that, the other sure measure of preventing wifi attacks is making regular changes in the passwords.
Last but not least, there are other overall measures that can be used in the protection of the security of the network. One of these measures is installing a firewall. Apart from that, the other measure is using network segmentation. Besides, the implementation of network segmentation can also serve a great deal especially in minimizing the overall risk or threat to a network system.
