The name of the company is Nike Inc. which is in the sports footwear and apparel industry. The path is Sports in the production of footwear and apparel products. I chose Nike Inc. because it is an American firm in the fortune 500 companies that purpose unite the world through sports by creating a healthy planet, an active community, and an equal playing ground for all. These are more than just anticipation as they shape every decision across all aspects of the company’s decision-making process.
One of Nike’s current initiatives towards CSR is unleashing human potential through sports. According to Globalreporting.org (6), the leading global footwear and apparel manufacturing firm targets to attract and develop an increasing engaged, diverse, and a healthy workforce. To achieve this, the firm provides visibility to its diversity and inclusion progress, provide a competitive, comprehensive, and equitable pay and benefits, and invest in its employees through growth, development and wellbeing initiatives. Further, Nike Inc. invested a minimum of 1.5 per cent pre-tax income to drive positive impacts on the community.
Nike’s CSR initiative has positive impacts on both short-term and long-term profits. First, the development growth, development, and enlighten of the employees will foster their skills as well as a community rapport. Secondly, its drive for positive impacts in the community will increase the morale of the community to choose its products over its competitor’s products. While my Nike’s CSR knowledge before this assignment was little, now I understand most of its CSR initiatives both in the United States and beyond and how it can impact the firm’s profitability.
