DM (Diabetes Mellitus) is a disorder that affects the body’s’ ability to use glucose and the utilization of insulin. Symptoms include increased thirst, increased hunger and frequent urination. Administering high doses of Vitamin D in the activated form of calcitriol helps absorb calcium while removing phosphorous. Since Vitamin D is crucial in the absorption and metabolism of calcium, it is advised that patients that have hyperthyroidism consume the recommended level of vitamin D.
