Culture:
- Define culture (ensure referencing where appropriate)
- National culture
- Compare host nation & original nation (e.g. IBM US & IBM India)
- Organisation Culture (country of origin):
- Discuss the organisations culture
Use the below frameworks in your discussion of culture:
- Cage Framework
- Hofstede’s Cultural dimension
Corporate Social Responsibility:
- Define CSR:
- Talk about the org’s CSR main activities in country of origin only.
- Is CSR s of country of origin replicated across its subsidiaries overseas?
- Does the CSR satisfy responsiveness or responsibility?
- Use the below theories & framework
- Carroll’s framework
- Stakeholder theory (Edward freeman) & social contract theory & Ethical theory – (responsibility vs. responsiveness)
Recommendation:
- Does this organisations culture influence CSR and is there a GAP between organisation culture and CSR?
- Suggest how organisation’s CSR should be or is more responsive (Duty of care) as opposed to a responsibility and recommend the use of proactive approach.
Conclusion:
Conclude by showing how culture drives a lot of the other aspects of the business e.g. CSR and the importance of maintaining an ethical culture.
