Organization of hell
Hi Atheer,
Thanks for sharing your analysis of Dante’s story about the organization of hell. Dante’s account is made to shows sinners of the awaiting punishment and thus proposes that hell is made of nine circles, each with different categories of sinners. I agree with you that the nine circles mentioned by Dante are organized in descending order and start with the souls that led good lives; however they did honor God. The first circle in the hell organization is critical to religions in that it shows honoring God is more important, and thus there is punishment to those led virtuous lives without honoring God (Havely,2018). I also agree that the ninth circle in hell organization is made of the souls that did not observe the law of love and deserve to be punished more. However, I think the souls in the first circle should not be placed there; because the souls pleased men and not God, and they dishonored God; thus, they are the ones to be punished highly.
