Communication is important in an organization’s context as it improves the relationship between the managers and the employees. It increases the propensity of getting things done, and this enhances the performance of an organization. It also ensures that the workers have all the instructions they need to complete the task that has been assigned. When there is proper communication, the organization can avoid a destructive chain of events that may be occasioned when a crucial piece of information is omitted in the communication process, which affects the completion time of projects, increases errors, and even jeopardizes the implementation of the project. Performance and organization communication is vital since communication can help the employees acquire the crucial behaviors for performance in the workplace, such as punctuality, commitment, and honesty. Without communication, it would be hard for the organization to pursue a common goal due to the employees’ diverse interests. The purpose of this work was to explore the communication behavior of managers a ho this communication promotes the engagement of the employees, which is vital in promoting productivity for the employees. The methodology that was used in this research was a qualitative descriptive study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted where managers and non-managerial employees were interviewed regarding the effectiveness of communication n, promoting the employees’ engagement.

When managers are effective in the communication process, the employee shows a greater level of engagement. Moreover, this article further found that engagement was vital in promoting openness among the employees, enhancing the level of transparency among the employees, and augmented the level of transiency. This was both to the managers and the employees in a form where there was effective communication. Furthermore, the increase in the employees’ engagement levels was vital to reduce the turnover of the employees, which promotes the workforce’s productivity. Through positive communication, the managers can make the employees own the organization and thus commit to the company’s objectives. When employees identify with the company, they will settle instead of looking for opportunities outside the organization, which reduces commitment and, thus, productivity.

Therefore, society implies that communication influences some behaviors in employees that are crucial for performance. Some of the behaviors influenced by communication include augmented engagement, motivation, satisfaction, improved relations, reduced turnover, high level of commitment, loyalty to the organization, and increased confidence in executing the work due to higher self-esteem. Employees who possess these behaviors show a higher level of productivity. On the flipside, ineffective communication in the workplace results in a lack of commitment and poor relationship with the leaders, negatively impacting employee productivity. Therefore, society can adopt effective communication in the management of employees for enhanced productivity.
