Social responsibility means that an organization balances between profit-making with impacting the society positively. Most corporates have learned that it is essential to consider improving the community’s conditions. Throughout the world, establishments strive to achieve positive impacts on society without compromising an individual’s basic needs. They apply principles of sustainability in the order they conduct themselves. Sustainability shows the company’s activities, especially volunteerism, that involves environmental and social concerns.
In a study on the organization, which focus mostly on society’s social responsibility, LEGO emerged among the top ten in the year 2020 (Bendell, 2005). It is the biggest toy manufacturing company, and not a single parent would forget to buy their children dolls to play with as they grow. LEGO was created in the year 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen in Denmark. The corporation represents consumer expectations. Hence, social responsibility to their users has met its expectations.

Being one of those people who have grown up with toys, I would choose a company that has helped me learn the virtue of ownership—figurines aid children in creating discoveries, getting ideas, and the morality of property. Additionally, thinking capacity and imagination improve on children who use toys.
There are fun and joy brought about by building together and the enthusiasm in children when they explore different toys. Creativity is enhanced among children who use such gadgets. Creativity is the ability to come up with new ideas and things. This imagination and logic bring fun to them. In the aspect of imagination, a youngster can build their world, which is extraordinary. Children dream about this, and it becomes their first fancy. Free toys help progenies in improving creativity and resourcefulness.
LEGO has demonstrated generosity to its customers. Thus, the organization’s concern is more to the customers than profit. In this case, it is useful for children who are the primary consumers of the company. Hence, the reason for choosing an organization that focuses on the positive impact on the clienteles (Bendixen & Abratt, 2007).
Quality is another reason why for selecting LEGO over other establishments. Together with meeting the customer’s demands, the company values eminence. Contrary to most organizations, it has ensured that quality means undeterred improvement. Hence, they produce the best toys that meet children needs. To achieve excellence, Lego has strengthened its capacity in production, digital developments, instilled skills and sustainability.

LEGO is more concerned with creating an environment which is not harmful to society. Hence, they have established plans to lessen harmful emissions to reduce global warming; a dangerous problem in the world. For instance, it has employed waste management tactics that involve the reduction of less toxic resources to the environment. LEGO has achieved these undertakings for two years. To illustrate, the company has introduced windmills to create energy naturally hence harnessing renewable energy. This dynamism can cover more than 100,000 homes annually.
Additionally, the company has plans to improve energy efficiency. For example, it has introduced an approach to reduce the energy used in building brands small bricks. The change in production schemes and machines also improves cooling systems. The supply chain in the company has also grown to enable it to minimize carbon production.
Human Rights and Ethical Practices
A socially responsible organization cares about society’s wellbeing. LEGO ensures that it uses capable resources which are environmentally friendly. The bricks made in the company are made with durable materials. Hence, when not in use, they can be stored for future utilization. Additionally, if the parent or the child wants to get rid of a toy, the company advises that they donate to someone.
Through reduction, reusing and recycling the company has been able to handle wastage. Its goal is to reach a zero wastage production. Most of the reused materials include papers, sheet and pencil hence the aim to reach 93% of recycling.
The Forest Council for sustainability usually certifies the packaging of brands in LEGO since 2004 (Bendell, 2005). Its packaging is small to save paper and boards. Hence the organization cares about animal life and the surrounding they occupy.
The organization cares about the wellbeing of the company, employees, and suppliers. Hence, they have a code of conduct which enlists guidelines addressing human rights, health, corruption, and safety. Welfare for employees at work is vital in the corporation because it creates motivation and satisfaction. Additionally, it has reduced accidents and improved working conditions. The establishment has also placed measures to reduce stress and preserve mental health to the personnel by engaging managers in anxiety identification and intervention as well as pressure management among the employees.
As a company that focuses on social responsibility, LEGO pays attention to most of the corporate activities. Thus, it offers solutions to most of its problems and requires its suppliers to sign a code of conduct before working with them (Bendixen & Abratt, 2007). Therefore, the system respects human rights, employee’s safety and health issues. Through working in a healthy environment, performance and production are improved.

LEGO has programs that involve the community in their workshops with volunteer employees. The initiative has benefitted approximately 100,000 children globally. It aims at helping youngsters improve their learning capacity and also for fun. Hence, in this company, making profits is not the primary concern but assisting children in developing significant aspects such as imagination, creativity, commitment, and communication.

Wind farms aim to reduce carbon emission by producing renewable energy. Wind energy is being produced, which they intend to use in 2020.

The packaging boxes in LEGO are either cardboard or plastic, which saves tons of cartons. The containers are also small and more durable which have logo Forest Stewardship Council certification.
Conclusion
Social responsibility in organizations ensures that organizations are more concerned about the impact they bring to society and not mostly on profit-making. Some of the factors that considered include health, environmental protection, and elimination of poverty. LEGO has been the best this year in the CSR ranking, having achieved most of the issues considered. The establishment has set standards, codes, and values to improve positivity in children and preserve a safe environment. Additionally, there are more efforts on the way for an organization including safe products, renewable energy, and emission reduction to achieve more sustainability.
