Great post! You have presented the various factors that come to play with reference to the parenting of children. There are various experiences that people go through in life that affect their upbringing and their later lives. In this sense, the manner in which one is brought up would in most cases influence the manner in which they will bring up their children as people learn from their older people in society. I believe the examples you have presented with reference to your upbringing and your wife’s upbringing are a good example of how the manner in which children are brought up plays a significant role in their future lives.

Great post! You have presented the different types of parenting as presented by Baumrind among other styles of parenting. The type of parenting that a given parent adopts is a crucial influence of the life of a given child to a great extent. It should not be that the type of parenting style that one was brought up with is the one that he or she would use to bring up their children. For this reason, a parent should ensure that they adopt the best parenting style for their children that would positively impact their lives. I do believe the parenting style you are using will positively influence your children to have better future lives.
