Parents communication with their children
In her talk, Dr. Brenda suggests that parents should communicate with their children indirectly. She argues that babies can learn more than we may think just by observing and recording the events in their brain, which I genuinely support. The parents have a huge role to play when it comes to how the baby understands, learns, and comprehends things depending on how they raise and speak to their children. I find the idea of reading them stories and helping them read very useful as it helps prepare the baby for learning in preschool. However, Dr. Brenda did not seem to recognize the fact that most of these children attend daycare schools whereby they do not get the necessary education that they would have otherwise acquired from the parents during this young age.
Rita Pierson happens to be a teacher, and she advocates very much for people to learn how to love the kids. I think that the kids do not learn from random people thought it highly depends on how one has brought up the child. Kids do not learn from people they do not like, however, Rita did not mention that the parents should continuously supervise their children since they may end up liking the wrong people hence learning the wrong things. Constant supervision from then parents will ensure that the kids end up learning the right stuff and differentiating right from wrong. The video is very informative to the current and future educators since it contains basic but detailed information on teaching a child.
