There are diverse approaches through which one can gauge their managerial skills. The use of the aptitude test is one of the standard and stringent procedures when reflecting on one’s managerial skills. Need to understand my strengths and weaknesses as far as management is concerned influenced the decision to conduct a manual test using the aptitude test. I considered the test as vital towards enabling me to formulate the best utilization of my strengths and counter-responses to the weaknesses for perfection in managerial activities. Similarly, aptitude tests were critical towards enhancing personal and professional development.

Technical, human, and conceptual skills are fundamental when reflecting on a person’s managerial abilities. This dictated my decision to consider the three when formulating the aptitude tests. Having such skills translate to perfected management, especially in the world of commerce. It is worth noting on the essentiality of perfected management in the modern business world. They are vital in enabling an individual to be a more influential manager hence both personal and professional success. The formulation of the aptitude test, considering the three skills categories, helped me to reflect on my management strengths and weaknesses. The tabular representation above reflects on some of the findings concerning my varying abilities under the three categories. From the table, it is evident that my strongest area/category is associated with conceptual skills. This acted as my primary strength, whose consideration towards enhancing professionalism cannot be overlooked. Scholars and academicians argue that conceptual skills are fundamental in the business world since they enable an individual to have better analysis and understanding of complex day-to-day scenarios. I am confident and optimistic that the strength will allow me to formulate strategic and creative solutions when responding to complex organizational situations. I am confident in my ability to handle complicated workplace experiences to enhance functional effectiveness.

The second category that reflected on my managerial strengths was human skills. Similarly, interpersonal/human skills are essential in facilitating the attainment of managerial success. Academicians and scholars point out the vitality of human capabilities in easing the realization of a firm’s mission and vision statements. Visionary managers should possess human skills as a basis of facilitating their success in gearing all the employers towards the desired operational outcomes. Human skills are primarily associated with the nature of relationships within the workplace. Scholars argue that working as a team is critical towards enabling an organization to realize its desired goals quickly. Having interpersonal/human skills is vital in dictating the levels and nature of human relations within the workplace. As a manager, human capabilities enable one to interact and relate well with other employees in a manner leading to functional effectiveness. The human resource is vital in enhancing the smooth flow of organizational functions. Arguably, human resources are the major dictate of organizational performance. This explains the fact that I need to improve my human skills to enable me to achieve personal and professional goals. The aptitude tests revealed that technical skills acted as my most substantial weakness. I had the lowest score in technical skills. As briefed earlier, success as a manager is significantly dependent on one’s strength as far as the three skill categories are concerned.

The results from the aptitude tests are not only critical in reflecting on my major strengths and weaknesses but also will guide my day-to-day managerial approaches. As a manager, it is essential to maximize one’s strengths and try to improve on the flaws to ease the attainment of the desired personal and professional goals. One of the categories that I can maximize on and enhance my professionalism is related to conceptual skills. Having scored the highest points on this category, I can maximize it to improve my management. It is worth appreciating that I expected to have a high score on social skills. I am always aware of the essentiality of human capital in easing the attainment of operational objectives. Throughout my career, I have tried to improve my approaches to social relations as a fundamental consideration to enhance the achievement of personal and professional goals. Human skills are associated with one’s ability to relate with others in a meaningful manner towards improving the acquisition of the desired functional outcomes. I need to improve my human skills, considering the essentiality of HR in dictating operational success. Furthermore, the aptitude tests made me realize that my significant weakness as far as management is concerned is the lack of essential technical skills. Technical skills are associated with the performance of specialized and field-specific tasks within an organization. Having such skills is critical towards enabling me to communicate and coordinate diverse operational endeavors in a manner leading to goal attainment.

The urge to use the tests was dictated by the desire to understand some of the strengths and weaknesses that dramatically impact my profession. As such, I reflected on the criteria as a necessary tool to give insight into some of the best approaches to facilitate the attainment of positive organizational transformations. There are distinct factors that dictate the performance of an organization. Corporate culture is a critical consideration when reflecting on the ability to achieve functional goals. Notably, perfection in aligning organizational culture to correlate with the changes characterizing the market is essential towards enhancing operational effectiveness. Integrating ethical corporate behavior and transparency, attained through vocational networking, is vital towards functional success (Watson, 2017). I will utilize conceptual and human skills to enhance such positive transformations. Besides, I will consider some of the measures to improve my technical skills to use the three categories to drive success when tasked with management roles. Corporate social responsibility is another faultless approach to enhancing performance. Formulating measures to improve environmental conservation and curbing global warming is essential as CSR is concerned (Sethi, 2018). I will consider the approach to enhance performance.

The paper reflects on some of the significant factors influencing the attainment of professional and personal goals. Managers are essential in enabling organizations to achieve the desired functional outcomes. The decision to formulate aptitude tests is associated with the desire to understand individual strengths and weaknesses as far as management is concerned. The test revealed my strength as conceptual skills, followed by human capabilities, and lastly, technical skills. Maximizing the first two and formulating measures to improve technical skills will lead to personal and professional success.
